It was a normal Monday morning but it didn't feel right. It felt like something was off. Either way, I still got up, got dressed and went to school. As I arrived I noticed that a lot of people were absent, which was strange since no one was sick during the past week. Probably the Monday blues.
Chelsea was absent today too, she's usually never absent. Something weird was definitely going on. I then saw Matthew and decided to approach him, "Hey Matthew, have you heard from Chelsea today? She doesn't usually miss a Monday and she won't reply to any of my texts." Matthew just stared at me blankly then walked away. What is going on today? It's like everyone is possessed.
After 7 periods and 2 breaks it was time to call it a day. I waited outside for Jason to pick me up but he didn't show up after half an hour, so instead of waiting even longer, I walked home. It was going to be a long walk, so I decided to put my earphones in, scrolled through my playlists and chose the one labelled 'Sleeping with Sirens.'
An hour passed and I still wasn't home, so I decide to take a shortcut through the woods. I make sure I take the path that I know so that I don't get lost but a sudden movement catches my attention so I glance to my right. But when I look straight ahead of me the path has completely vanished. Great, now I'm lost. I take out my earphones and pack them in my bag. While looking around I notice something glowing in the distance behind a huge rock. I decide to walk closer to it. Suddenly I hear a sharp pitched scream coming from the same direction. A figure started to emerge from behind the rock; it looked like it was covered in oil except you could see glowing green eyes. It looked at me and then screamed again.
Adrenaline ran through my veins while I started to backtrack, I turned to run but tripped and hit my head, everything darkening. The last thing I heard before going unconscious was the scream.
