Chapter 25- The Morning After

SERENITY'S POV

I rubbed my eyes and slowly sat up. Patting the bed around me, I didn't feel anyone laying beside me. Great...another day where he abandons me the morning after. I removed the blanket from my body and got up from the bed. My legs started to wobble so I sat down really quickly, breathed in and out, and got up again walking to the kitchen, or, trying to find the kitchen at least. The house is huge and I'm all by myself in here. I don't know much of my way around. I reached for my phone in my bra and took it out and called Seonghwa.

The phone rang for a minute but no answer. I called him again and this time he picked up.

Seonghwa: Hey, baby.
Me: Good morning to you too. Where are you?
Seonghwa: I skipped that meeting so I had to attend this morning. I'm really sorry for leaving you, but I'm coming back with breakfast so don't make anything.
Me: I'm supposed to believe that? You've abandoned me before.
Seonghwa: Puppy.
Me: I'm not falling for the nickname bullshit.
Seonghwa: Beautiful.
Me: No, no, it's not gonna work. But thank you for the compliment.
Seonghwa: Princesa...
Me: ...
Seonghwa: There it is. Trust me. I'm coming back with breakfast. The meeting just finished...
Me: Do you promise?
Seonghwa: I promise that I'm not going to leave you in my house all by yourself, pup. It's really big and you don't know your way around.
Me: I do!
Seonghwa: Really? Where's the bathroom?
Me: ...Okay, maybe not...

I heard him chuckle over the phone. He told me he would be home soon and I should just wait. We said our goodbyes and I started to wait while tapping my foot.

SEONGHWA'S POV (during the meeting)

I sat down at a table with other men, some I've met and others my first time being in a room with. I look across the table and see my brother with a smirk on his face. I roll my eyes and fold my arms.

The big boss walks in and asks us for information on all of our missions currently. I tell my story to the boss and how much progress I've had and he moves on to my brother. My brother begins to speak and I just know this isn't going to end well. "Well, Ive had great success with my mission. Earned a lot of money. But, I just wanna focus on my little brother's mission in the meantime. You said you haven't had much success, probably because you aren't trying hard enough?" I glare at my brother and say "I've been working hard enough. The victim is in the palm of my hands right now, eating out of it like a bird with no one to trust."

"So why don't you go in for the kill yet?" My brother begins to start an argument and get me riled up. I retort back at him "Because it's not as easy as you think it is." "Are you feeling sympathy for such a measly person?" I scoff and say "Me? Feel sympathy? I don't even know what that is. But you don't understand the danger of this mission. That's why the boss gives you the easy ones. Me, on the other hand...I'm getting paid 1 billion for the success on this mission. You..." I laugh a little. "You only got a few thousand bucks." The boss began to laugh as well. My brother balled his hand into a fist and slammed it on the table. I smirk and say "What? Can't handle a bit of teasing from your little bro? I wouldn't be teasing so much if it wasn't the truth."

My brother looked at our boss. "I would like to work with Seonghwa on this mission." My eyes widened...the boss looked at my brother and asked why. "I just want a bit of his earnings and I really just want to have some fun with his target..." "You're not getting close to them." I glare at him. The boss sits back and starts to think about it.

The boss' alarm went off before he could decide on an answer. I really hope he doesn't assign my brother to work with me. I can't let him get close to them. I have to leave immediately before he starts to follow my car. I walk out of the meeting room as I receive a call from Serenity.

SERENITY'S POV (after the call with Hwa)

"Maybe I should try to find my way around...?" I said looking around and peeking into every room. Every room looked almost the same. His family really likes the colors red and black...gold as well.

My house just looks like your typical house fit for a large family, my parents like to stay on the down low, you know, keep a low profile so no one knows how and where to find them. But, this house isn't such a smart option...someone could easily describe this house, drop a missile, and boom, they'd all be dead. I understand that money buys happiness in some scenarios and people always love big houses, but this just isn't the safest option...

Sooner or later, Seonghwa arrived with a large bag from my favorite diner, The New Corral. I squealed as I ran to him and gave him a big hug. "Hey, hey, careful, I'm carrying the food." He said while hugging me back. He kissed my cheek and walked to the kitchen, leading me in the process, and leaving the bag on the table.

He wrapped his arms around my waist as I began to unwrap the bag and take out the food. I giggled as his hands slithered around me and he traced circles on my stomach. He placed his head on my shoulder and watched as his index finger went in a circle over and over again. I looked down at his fingers. "Hwa, can we eat?" He says "In a minute...I wanna enjoy my creation in here..." I looked at him "Babe, I'm not even sure if I'm pregnant..."
He looks back at me and kisses me. This kiss was passionate, a really loving kiss. His lips intertwined with mine...I could really feel the happiness behind this kiss. It gave me butterflies in my stomach and hearts in my eyes.

We both pulled away and I looked down smiling. He lifted my face up and kissed my forehead. "I really hope you are because I really want to start something new with you..." I smiled and covered my face as I felt my cheeks turn red. He chuckled and pulled away from the back hug and pulled out a chair for me. "Toothlesssss, stoooop." I sat down in the chair and he pushed my seat in for me and sat down in the chair beside me. "Come on, pup. The food's gonna get cold. You need to make sure you eat and don't let puppy junior starve." I giggled and kissed his cheek as I began to eat.

SEONGHWA'S POV

"Nooo, let me do them. You can't be doing so much work, baby." Serenity insisted that she did the dishes so I finally gave up and allowed her to do them. "Okay, okay, I'll be in the living room." I walked to the living room and checked my phone. A text message from my brother appeared on the screen. The text message read...

Brother: I'm on the case.
