Chapter Thirty-Two

[Vic]

I smile as I'm woken up, Jaime's smiling face right above me, him too excited about god-knows-what now. 

"Hey Viccc," he sings cheerfully, "Guess what today is? Our day off!" I sigh, slightly annoyed my boyfriend wouldn't let me get more sleep on our day off.

"Yeah," I mumble, wiping the remnants of sleep from my eyes. "Which is why you should have let me sleep." I roll over, burying my face in my pillow. Jaime sat on the bed beside me, the shift in weight forcing me towards him.

"No, which is why we should be doing 'cute shit,'" I looked up at Jaime, squinting, to see him doing the second air quote around cute shit. "Like Mike and Tony are." I turned my attention to Tony and Mike's bed, to see it empty, surprising for Mike because he'd normally sleep until at least noon. Shit, I wanted to get Tony's help with something... hopefully he'd be back before the end of the day. Just then, Tony and Mike walk in, laughing with each other. They notice us awake, and give us a wave, settling on the couch.

"Jaime, make breakfast and we can do cute shit, deal?" He nods eagerly, getting up and smiling. I get up after him, and walk over to Tony and Mike, sitting beside them. "Hey, Tony, can I speak to you alone?" Tony and Mike share a look of confusion, knowing that normally I'd come to Mike with my problems, but Mike gets up to 'help' (more like annoy) Jaime in the kitchen so me and Tony can have some privacy. Tony, can I ask you a favour?" I ask in a hushed voice, not wanting to let Jaime or Mike know what I was up to.

"Yeah, of course you can..." He replies hesitantly.

I look over to Tony and Vic after looking curiously at Mike, who had decided to join me in the kitchen. They were whispering to each other, so I looked to Mike for an explanation. He just shrugged with a mumbled "I don't know man," before we heard a sudden outburst of noise.

"OH! Oh my g -," Vic hushed Tony, giving him a dirty look, before glancing up at me and Mike. He gave me a smile when he met my eyes, which I of course returned, then I turned back to the meal I was preparing, which really wasn't a much of a meal at all. Tony was smiling like a fool when I looked back, as was my boyfriend, and I was curious as to what they were talking about.

"Okay, so can you? Pleaseee?" I heard Vic's voice beg, and I smiled to myself. I looked to Mike, who had pulled out his phone and was tapping out a reply to someone. Once he was done, he looked up at me, a confused look to his face.

"Guess what Jaime?" He said. I raised my eyebrows at him. "You're coming with us today."

"Why?" Mike shrugs, holding up his phone. "Vic coming too?" He shakes his head, and I look over to my boyfriend, who's looking at me already. "Vic, you asshole, I make you food and you abandon me?!" I call out to him, and he lets out a laugh, getting up and tossing a 'thank you' at Tony, before walking up to me, wrapping his arms around my waist and nuzzling his face into my neck.

"You just aren't amazing enough for me Jaime, I have to go see my secret lover today!" I frown, feeling a bit hurt even if I knew Vic was joking. Well, I assumed he was... "But you'll have fun with Tony and Mike, baby!"

I walk around, feeling completely lost in this city, not knowing where the heck to look first. I'd never done this before, and I felt very out-of-my-element. I pulled out my phone, looking at the first address I had saved in my notes. I glanced around, with absolutely no clue as to what street I was even on, then decided on just stopping a passer-by, someone who looked like a local.

"Hey, can you help me?" They nod, giving me a skeptical look. "I need to get to..." I look to my phone, and read out the address to them. They smile, obviously recognising where I was off to, and they sent me on my way with directions to get to my destination.

I had spent a few hours, debating on way too many things in the privacy of my mind, fighting with myself over every little thing, until finally being satisfied with my choices. I shot a text to Tony, telling him I was done, then looked at the time, seeing I still had a few hours of potential alone time with Jaime, so sent him a text with a location to meet me, so we could still do his version of 'cute shit.' I smiled as I headed off towards what I hoped was the food court of the mall, to meet Jaime and get some food, before letting him decide what to do.
