There was one a little girl, she was looking for a doll that would walk, had pretty long black hair, could talk and had opening and shutting eyes. She could never find one that matched her needs, she looked and looked, never could she find one. But one day, she found one, she looked at the doll very closely making sure it fit all of her needs. It walked, had pretty long black hair, could talk and had opening and closing eyes! She couldn't believe it! It was the last one, she had to have it! She asked her mom, begged, pleaded. Her mom picked the doll up, looked at the price, it was only five dollars! She took it to the clerk, he said, "I don't think you want that doll!" "Yes I do! I've been searching and searching for a doll, a doll exactly like this! A doll that would walk, had pretty long black hair, could talk and had opening and shutting eyes." The clerk looked at the girl, sighed, "Ok, that'll be five dollars." The girls mom gave the clerk the money took the doll and gave it to her daughter. The mother asked in a concerned way, "Why didn't you want me to buy this doll?" The clerk looked at her, motioned her to come with him, turned around and started walking to the janitors closet. As the mother looked at her daughter, she had already ripped open the package and was playing with the doll. She told her daughter she would be back, gave her a kiss on the forehead and followed the clerk into the janitors closet. "Your daughter, she's in grave danger." Said the clerk. "Why,how?" Said the stunned mother. "That doll is haunted!" "I don't believe you!" The mom said in an angered voice. "Well do you believe this.." Said the man, showing the confused mother a scar on his arm. "That doll did this!" The mom ran out of the room, terrified. She grabbed her daughters new doll, chucked it at the man and grabbed her daughter. "Mommy! My doll!" Screamed the girl. "No! That doll will hurt you!" "How?" They fought the whole way home, it seemed like hours. Once they got home, they were both shocked to see the doll, standing right in front of them, looking sweet to the girl, looking deadly to the mom. "Sally!" Screamed the girl, her mom pulled her back. "No Marisa." Her mom said sternly. "But mom?!" "No. That doll will hurt you." "Mom, it will not hurt me, I've been searching and searching for this exact doll! Please don't ruin it." "The clerk showed me, it was a scar oh his arm, right here." The mom showed her daughter where the scar was. "I don't think so, he was probably lying." They both looked at where the doll once was, it had moved! Where had the doll gone? They both searched and searched, every room in the house, even the attic. Then, they had one room left, Marisa's room. Marisa checked the dresser while her mom checked the closet, nothing. Marisa looked at her bed, it had an unusual bulge, Marisa pulled down the sheets, and there lay a limp doll along with a small note on top of it. She grabbed the note and said "Mom! She left a note!" Marisa started to read it aloud, it read
"Dear Marisa,
Thank you for welcoming me to your lovely home. But, that was a major mistake. After you go to bed, I will do something, you won't know what, but all I can say is it won't be pretty.
~Sally"
"Mom...I'm scared. I believe you. We need to take her back to the clerk!" "Sweetie, you can sleep with me, if that doll wants to hurt you, it will have to go through me first!" "I love you mom." That were their last words before they went to bed, together. Marisa started to see shadows of a short figure. She tried to wake her mom but she wouldn't wake up. She started to get really worried, she shook her sleeping mother, hoping it would wake her. The shadow figure started to get closer. "Mom! It's here! Help!" She started to cry, her mom was there to protect her yet she wouldn't get up. Marisa heard faint words saying "Marisa, your in trouble, big, big trouble." Marisa screamed "Mom!" Marisa's mom woke up finally. "Mom it's in here!" Marisa's mom jumped up and grabbed her gun, perfectly stored within arms reach, just in case, now was the time. She pointed the gun at the doll, it seemed stupid to shoot a doll but she needed to protect her daughter. She shot the doll, the doll fell to its knees. Marisa and her mom thought it was all over. "Do you really think that you can make me go away?" Said the doll. "Yes, I'm not scared of you!" Said Marisa. "Now go!" The doll looked shocked. "But,you loved me?" "No. I loved you then, before you threatened to hurt us." The doll walked out of the house, Marisa locked all of the doors and windows. They went back to bed, hugging each other. Marisa's mom woke up before her daughter, she checked on her to see if she was okay, she was shocked to see a big puddle of blood next to her daughter. She looked closer at her daughter and realized that her daughter had been injured, on her arm, the same place as the scar on the clerk that had warned her. She woke her daughter and took her to the bathroom to take a closer look. The injury was so deep that when the mother took Marisa to the doctor, she had to get stitches. "How did this happen?" Said the doctor. "We don't know, I woke up and found her like this." "That's weird." Said the doctor. "Well, I'll cover this and give you some ointment." The mom and daughter went home, they ate breakfast, then Marisa brought up the doll. She and her mom looked for the doll. They couldn't find it anywhere. Finally, when they got in the car after they packed to leave, the doll was in their car. Sitting elegantly in the back seat. They took the doll back to the clerk in panic. Once they got there, the store was open but there was no single soul in there. Not even the clerk. "Hello?" They both said. Not a single peep. They searched the store, once they got to the last spot, the janitors closet, they were trembling with fear. The mother hugged her daughter and opened the door, "hello?" she said. And right before her very own eyes was the clerk, hanging by bloody chains. Then they shrieked, threw the doll at the man and ran out. They drove to their new house. They had planned to move after Marisa got hurt. When they got to their new house, it was defiantly their dream home, they opened the door and they were happy to see no doll. They looked in every room, closet and attic, no doll. This was truly the right home. They unpacked and they settled in. They went to bed together, just in case. When the woke up they both were in good health condition. They ate breakfast, they talked about how they will never again visit their old home. Everyday sense then, they have lived a perfectly normal life. Or have they?
