The tray was silver, not much of the sage blood on it much to Yoongi's surprise. The room they were in was lit by torches, concrete walls with a door with bars for a window. This was the house of a doctor, according to Jin. He let Namjoon and Yoongi borrow his space so they could investigate the creature. There wasn't much of note in the room itself. It was rather barren, actually. They were operating on top of a stone table, the tray there to prevent any blood from spitting on it and damaging it. Although the doctor said he wouldn't mind any damage; it was in the name of discovery. But the doctor himself was elsewhere, dealing with the wounds the knights got from battle. That must have sucked for him, he had to miss out on a startling discovery...

Yoongi set his jaw, observing the way Namjoon peeled off the skin of the creature. Jin was outside, awaiting the results. Yoongi was the most experienced when it came to combating creatures, and Namjoon had the steadiest hands. Therefore, they were paired together, Namjoon wincing as if he were hurting the dead animal.

Like the one who owned this house, no doctors were available since they were still recovering from the attack. Besides, Namjoon volunteered to help. Likely because he felt the need to do something for his kingdom. After the conversation he and Namjoon had, Yoongi wouldn't be surprised if Namjoon decided to take on dozens of tasks just for a shred of self-approval.

"Smells strange," Namjoon said, tugging on the cloth he was using as a mask with his gloved hand. Yoongi tugged on his too, grimacing when the aroma hit his nostrils. His was different from Namjoon's; he ripped off a piece of his cloak and tied it around himself. Meanwhile, Namjoon resorted to using a large shirt and pulling it above his nose. Probably not the safest idea, but it was better than nothing. Both of them had gloves and clothing covering all their skin to ensure no harmful substances could get on them. Yoongi held his cloak a bit tighter than before, hoping he wouldn't contaminate the one reminder of his wife he had left. "Smells like a chemical, don't you think?"

"Yeah... I wish I could identify which one. I've never seen a creature like this before."

And that was the truth. The creature had a tail with scales lining the skin, the tip as sharp as a knife if not sharper. It had blood stained on it, and little legs that were shriveled up from being killed. There were 6 legs, and its entire body was covered in scales, even the wings that were attached to its two front legs. The wings weren't separate on its back. They spread out whenever the two front legs were spread.

"Ugh, I wish I could throw this thing in a pit of lava," Namjoon mumbled, poking and prodding at the tough flesh. "Not sure how much we'll learn from this seeing as I'm not much of a scientist, but it's not like we have much of those left. I'm hoping you'll recognize something inside this thing."

"Wish I could, and I might be able to. We used to get a lot of creatures, and we called them the most random things. There was this one that had a tiny face and these two, huge legs. We called it Stanson."

"Stanson? That's the dumbest name I've ever heard."

"Tell me about it," Yoongi said with a snort, taking a mental note of the way the organs inside seemed dried up already. There was no blood remaining. It was like it was sucked up and ushered away, somewhere Yoongi couldn't see. "We named it after one of my lead knights. Mostly because his arms were so disproportional to his body. So we had to make fun of him. We couldn't go more than a day without making fun of him. Don't worry, he didn't mind. Actually, I think he liked the attention."

Namjoon chuckled and peeled more of the skin back, groaning as the stench hit the air. "Never getting used to that," he muttered before shifting his gaze to Yoongi, slowing his movements with the dagger. "Sorry if this is a bit personal, but do you ever miss those days?"
