Chapter 31
Recap:
I thanked my parents for everything they had done for us and finally we made our way to the limo, my phone in one hand and Justin’s hand in the other. I was so excited for what was to come I thought I might burst. I smiled at Justin, content, and he smiled back just as wide.
This was going to be an awesome three months!
At least, that’s what I thought at first…
**
I got on the plane with Kaley and Justin and Justin helped me put my small suitcase in the overhead compartment. In my hands I had a small bag with my laptop, iPod, a book, a magazine, and various chargers. I was hoping I would be able to get some sleep on the flight.
Justin put his bag in the overhead compartment next to mine and then moved on to help Kaley with hers. Finally he sat next to me in the middle seat, and Kaley sat in the seat at the end. We were in first class so I had a window seat and a lot of leg room. It was a very nice experience. I got prepared for the flight and waited impatiently for take-off. I was a very impatient person I must say.
Finally it was time for take-off and Justin held my hand as I lay back in the seat and closed my eyes. I realized how tired I was since I got zero sleep last night. I can never sleep when I’m excited.
I closed my eyes and tried to completely relax, even though the sounds of the plane were really loud.
**
I woke up with a start when I felt something jerk underneath me. I looked around me and it took me a moment to remember that I was on an airplane. When I finally realized I relaxed a bit in my seat and looked next to me where Justin was still sleeping, his hand still in mine. I looked over at Kaley and she was sleeping too, and it looked like she was in the middle of typing when she zonked out.
I tried to relax again, but since I was already woken up I figured I wouldn’t be able to fall asleep again. Stupid turbulence. I got out my Seventeen magazine and tried to pull my hand away from Justin’s as gently as possible, trying not to wake him up. I was assuming he was just as tired as I was.
I managed to get my hand out of his grasp and I smiled at my accomplishment while grabbing the magazine.
I was reading my monthly horoscope when Justin finally woke up, and we were already landing.
“Hey there sleepy-head.”
I said with a sweet smile.
“Hey. Are we landing already? I slept for four hours?”
“Yes you did. I probably would have too if the turbulence didn’t wake me up to be honest. We should have gone to bed earlier. Maybe we should-“
I was about to say we should go to bed early tonight when I was interrupted by the announcer.
“Now landing In Vancouver, Canada.”
It was my first time being in Canada and I was really hoping I would be able to talk to a few Canadians just so I could hear them say “eh”.
The announcer woke Kaley up and she almost jumped out of her seat and knocked the laptop on the floor. She quickly stuffed it back into its case and into her bag and then put her seatbelt on.
We finally landed and I got all my stuff out of the overhead compartment and put my magazine back in the bag, then squeezed through the narrow isle, bags in hand.
We got off the plane and I saw my first Canadian airport, The Vancouver National Airport. It looked pretty much exactly the same as the one back home, a few minor differences, and I realized how stupid I was to think it might be different just because it was in a different country.
