I was walking toward the Kurasamas' mansion, and I felt a presence behind me. I halt and used the winds to make a harsh blow toward the figure. An ability I mastered a year ago.

"Hey! What was that for?!"

"Meriol? Why are you following me?"

"Following you? Are you dumb? I'm going in this direction too!"

"I'm everything except a moron, and that moron would be you."

"You're so infuriating at times!"

"The feeling's mutual."

We walked for half an hour or so and finally reached the Kurasamas' mansion. Now I do realize, he has an objective in the Kurasama clan. I wonder if he will be a hindrance to my plan.

"So you do have business with the Kurasamas."

"I could say the same thing about you." I retorted.

We both walked cautiously on the outer lawn of the mansion then I pushed a button on the gate and spoke, "Greetings, I am L/N F/N and I have an appointment with Mr. Kurusama at this hour."

Meriol then introduced himself, "While my name's Chinoka Meriol, a bodyguard for the head of the Kurusamas."

Interesting. So he is a bodyguard, we had daggers in our eyes since we are suspicious of each other's motives. A soundbox was heard just above our ears, "You may enter."

Once the gate was opened, the two of us walked to the house and guard dogs are surrounding the place. Then he finally uttered a word, "Are you going to sabotage the mansion?"

"That's none of your busines-"

He shushed me then whispered to my ear, "Because I will."

I was confused on why he told me about his motive, but then again I am impressed by his boldness and confidence in his power. After all, among the three Chinoka brothers, he has the most powerful aura and is more efficient in skills. Moreover, a firm attitude. He smirked and I returned it with a smug look.

"That's good that we are still on the same page. I would've been bummed if we were not. I can beat you if we were on the different sides though."

"Don't jinx yourself, I'm more observant, something you aren't aware of."

"Oh but I am."

I put a finger in front of his mouth and waved it mockingly, "You know there's no cure for gullibility, right?"

"That's harsh!"

"At least not harsher than your face."

"Ouch! My face is smoother than a baby's butt!"

I ignored him, and just in time, the doors opened to the Kurusama mansion. There were people lined up, and the conductor or Mr. Kurusama was the one looking through the applications and first impression.

"Good day, Mr. Kurusama. May I start my shift?"

The head of the clan looked in our direction, and his face showed strictness and yet he did something unexpected. "Kyaa! Meriol-kunn! How are you? Oh did you bring an applicant? Yes yes start your shift, my lovely children have been impatiently waiting!"

The other applicants dead-panned and whispered among themselves. Such as favoritism, brutality, and cruelty of the top-notch bodyguard and the Kurusama.

I saw a thread of string from Kurusama's and Meriol's hair to the ceiling infused with nen. Slowly but quickly I pulled out my dagger, halting the guards and pointing their guns at me. I ran towards the two and jumped, slicing the thread of string. A high-pitched squeal could be heard from the Kurusama's hair.
