Tatum woke up with a fright, panting hard. She clutched her chest, trying to get over the nightmare, she looked to her left and noticed Steve laying on his stomach.
She sighed, she had to leave before he woke up. It wasn't that she didn't want to be there, she just had to get home before her parents noticed she hadn't spent the night there.
She quickly put her clothes on, and wrote Steve a note. She reached over Steve and put it on the pillow next to him. She leaned down and pressed a kiss to his forehead. She smiled once she got up, and slowly snuck down the stairs to the front door.
She was lucky his parents were out of town, once again, so she didn't have to be super careful. Steve was a heavy sleeper, so it didn't matter too much.
She made it out of his driveway successfully and was able to think about her nightmare on the way home. It was giving her a headache just thinking about it.
Her nightmares usually consisted of her watching someone die, this one was similar, except this time, she was watching her brother die. He had been playing in the street with Georgie, she watched them look into the sewer. When they reached for their boats Tatum yelled their names, but no one could hear her.
She woke up just after watching Sloan and Georgie get pulled into the sewer. It was one of the worst nightmares she'd had yet.
When she pulled into her driveway she turned the headlights off quickly, so no one would wake up, and sighed heavily, she rested her head on the steering wheel and got her stuff out of her car. Trying to walk in stealthily, it worked until she passed the living room.
"And just where were you?" She heard her mom ask, she sighed, at least it wasn't her dad, he would've killed Steve.
"I was at Steve's." Her mother sighed, she wasn't angry, she wasn't disappointed, she was just glad she wasn't hurt.
