sitting quietly in the booth across from your best friend, danielle. she had been ranting on about how her girlfriend wasn't responding to any text and leaving her on opened all day. which made you frown.
instead of letting danielle sit quietly and sad that her girlfriend wasn't talking to her, you decided to take her out for dinner, and go on a best friends date, something she appreciated.
"i mean, if she's not treating you right, you should leave her." you say as you take a bite from the chips that were on the table, danielle takes one too and sighs, "i don't know, she's just, always so distant" she complains
the conversation shifts as danielle looks at reels and you both laugh together when they were funny, before you knew it you to were gossiping while eating your food together.
"but who are we to judge." danielle says, as you both finish off the food you were eating, both being too full to eat anymore, you gently wipe your face with a napkin as danielle looks behind you.
"yo, some guy has been stealing glances at you all night" danielle says, as she wipes her own mouth, you crease your eyebrows at her, before turning around to look at the guy.
he smiles at you as you smile back, he offers a small wave and you wave back before you turn towards danielle, who had her eyebrows raised.
"oh my god, go ask for his number" she says but you roll your eyes, no way in hell is someone as beautiful as him going to want your number.
as you and danielle talk, you'd take occasional glances over your shoulder and see the guy looking at you, in all honesty, he looked like the biggest fuck boy there was, but it just made him all the more appealing to you.
"i'll pay." you say as you stand up, danielle frowns but lets you walk off as she arranged the plates and cutlery so it would be easier for the waitresses and waiters to pick up.
you walk over to the counter, and they ring up your order, but before you can put your card down someone else had already paid for your food.
looking over your shoulder, the guy from earlier was close to your face, you let out a small, almost silent yelp as you came face to face with him.
he smiled before he begins to walk away, "wait!" you call out, danielle already standing at the door watching the encounter, he turns around and looks at you, "you didn't have to do that" you say as you walk closer, he smiles.
"i know, but i did." he says as he rests against the table he and his friends once sat at. you look away embarassef that someone so hot was looking directly at you.
"thank you." you mumble and he smiles before walking closer to you and lifting your chin with his thumb and index finger. "no problem, sweetheart" he says before running his hand through his hair.
you watch in shock as he leaves the restaurant and resumes walking with his friends, and a soft smile plays at your lips, before you quickly gain composure and walk over to danielle.
although you were slightly bummed that you didnt get his number, the next morning you noticed he had followed you and from then on DM's were exchanged before he asked you on a date.
