This takes place a bit before Mona and Commander Sal come to Earth.

April's POV

Me and Raph were chilling in the living room, along with Karai and Leo in the background, watching some TV. Space Heros was on, so we didn't pay much attention to it.

"This show is boring. How in the world are you able to watch this, Leo?" Raph grumbled as we both looked back at Leo and Karai for an answer, only to be ignored.

The two were throwing popcorn at each other while laughing. It seemed they were having the time of there lives.

Me and Raph both frowned. I looked back at the TV, hearing Raph sigh before getting up and leaving the room. I decided to do the same. I got myself off the floor and walked towards the kitchen.

Once I was in the kitchen, I looked through the fridge for a snack to eat. I saw an apple, so I took it out and walked to the table to sit down. I took a bite as I stared at the wall, leaving myself to my thoughts.

"April," I heard a calm yet familiar voice.

I looked to the side to see Karai. I only frowned again and looked back at the wall. "What do you want?"

I heard her walk up to me, slide open a chair, and sit down. "Me and Leo noticed that you and Raphael walked out without saying anything. Leo thought something was wrong and wanted me to go after you while he went after Raphael." She explained.

I glanced at her for a quick second, taking in her slightly annoyed face, before looking away again.

"Nothing's wrong. I'm perfectly fine." I replied a bit rudely.

Karai huffed and leaned her elbow on the table, her hand held up as she layed her head, that was turned to me, on it. "You sure? Leo was certain there was something wrong with the both of you. Though, I didn't really care."

My frown worsened as I took another bite out of my apple, only to set it down on the table harshly after swallowing. "Of course you don't care."

She hummed and stared at me for a few seconds before turning her whole body towards me. "Alright, now I really know there's something wrong. What's up?"

I looked at her with a confused frown. "I thought you didn't care?"

She huffed a bit before rolling her eyes. "Please O'Neil, I didn't mean it. I say stuff I don't mean when I'm tired. I'm straight up blunt and sarcastic sometimes."

My expression softened a bit, but it didn't make me feel any better. "It doesn't matter. You wouldn't understand anyway."

"You really think I wouldn't understand you?" She started, raising an eyebrow. "We already have so much in common, O'Neil. There's nothing you can say that I won't understand." She crossed her arms as she stared at me. "So spit it the fuck out so I can go tell Leo you're fine."

I wasn't even mad this time, knowing why she was being so straight forward. I was more... Shocked then anything. I'm not sure if this was Karai's way of comfort, but whatever. I'll take it.

I blinked before furrowing my eyes and looked down. "You know the feeling jealousy, right?" I said a bit jokingly, despite how I felt at the moment.

Karai scoffed a little laugh before flicking my forehead, making me look up at her. "I think that's what I feel when you're around Leo, or even Shinigami."

To my disappointment, Karai's smile went away as she raised an eyebrow. "So, what, you have feeling for both Shini and Leo?"

I quickly shook my head. I don't want her to get the wrong idea. Sure, I love Leo, but he's more like a brother to me than anything. And Shinigami? I barely even know her that much, and I hated her guts the first time I met her.

"Then who do you like?"

What? Shouldn't it be obvious by now? If I get jealous whenever Karai is around Leo and Shinigami, but I don't like them, who else would I like?

"What do you mean 'Who do you like'? It should be obvious now." I stared at her in confusion before realizing what she was doing.

Karai slowly began to smirk. "I know. I just want to hear you say it." She siad, leaning closer to be.

I blushed and glanced away in annoyance. Is this a sign that she may like me back? "It's you, idiot." I mumbled.

"What was that?" We were now only inches away from each other.

"I like you, okay!?" I shouted as my face started heating up.

Karai hummed before getting up and giving me a peck on the lips. "That's all I needed to hear." She says before turning around and casually walked out of the kitchen, leaving me a blushing mess.

"What... Just happened?"
