LOVE. The one thing that can stand the test of time, save you from any curse or darkness, the happiest thing on the planet.Well, wrong, love only gives you pain and suffering, why fight for something that you will inevitably lose. Love is a lie, I see it everyday, people cheating, divorce, abuse in all its forms. Every sing day I see love causing more pain than happiness. A perfect example is this case I just managed to close about a missing child that had been kidnaped by his father because his wife divorced him and she refused to give him joint custody. Proof that love only ends in heart break. I have been sheriff of this small town called "new heaven" for two years so belive me when I tell you that love has failed on more than one occasion. I am broken from my thoughts when I here the heavy foot steps of my twin brother walking into my sheriff station that looks like it came out of a 1960's movie. In fact the whole town is old and is in desperate need of modernization, there aren't even cameras on the streets so when a person is reported messing I am forced to do a door by door search. My brother doesn't even bother to knock on my office door but just swings open the door and waltzes in. Damien and I have the same dirty blond hair and dark blue eyes that can Pierce your sole.
"Hey sis, hoz it going." He says exited.
"fine, until you appeared," I say jokingly.
" haha, what are you still doing here, come on, we are hot and sexy let's go out and meet people, maybe you will even get lucky, take one home for some fun, if you know what I mean." Damien says while doing a suggestive dance.
Today I am not in the mood to go out, all I want to do is go home and watch Netflix.
" I am not in the mood today Damien."
Damine has been a player since he knew what sex was and would sleep with any girl that would simply bat her eye lashes at him. Oh did I also forget to say that he is a major party animal.  So it is his tradition every Friday night to drag me to our towns only night club in hopes that I will get laid because according to him I am in desprate need of a good lay. He says I am to uptight and that it is because I have not gotten any sex in a long time but who cares, I am a strong and independent young women and I don't need a man by my side.
"Come on Sophia, at this rate you will die alone"
" are you seriously going to give me the same speech that mom and dad have given us our whole lives."
" You know I won't soph, I also don't belive in that whole true love crap but I also don't want to live my whole life just surviving." He says looking at me with concern.
" says the guy that sleeps with anything that moves."
" I just have not met the right one" he says defensively.
" Fine, but only tonight and I wont stay for long,"
"yessssss" he says while jumping up and down with joy like a two year old.
Damien then proceeds to grab my arm and drag me outside were I am hit with the fresh smell of autum and the cold autum breez gives me goose bumps as it touches my face.
Damien and I have not seen our parents since we ran away from home at 16. I know running away at 16 is crazy but once you understand the situation more you will understand that running away was the only option we had.
