Robins POV
Working at scoops ahoy was one of the most boring things ever. Although Mr Steve Harrington made it a bit more interesting by getting rejected more than 10 times a day. He tried asking out every girl that decided to walk in our store. He was on the edge of getting fired though. This was because every time a beautiful girl walked in he would go for it and then drive them away. Truth be told sometimes I wished I had half of Steves confidence. Being a lesbian in the 80's was a lot harder than it looked.
I took out the big white bored as Steve had been rejected once again.
"Hey dingus" I said mockingly "Look at how many numbers are on here."
"I can count Robin"
"Can you read too? Because all these numbers mean that you suck!" I laughed at his blank face. I could tell how done Steve was with me.
"Shockingly I can read." I could tell he was trying to make a comeback but failed and I laughed again.
"Well at least I don't like cornflakes on my ice-cream. Thats just straight up weird." Steve said looking proud of himself because he thought that was the greatest insult ever.
"Yeah I'm the weird one"
Steve rolled his eyes and turned around going back to the counter. He then immediately turned around and said:
"Alright Buckley it's your turn," Steve laughed as he as he saw Erica and her group of bratty ass 10 year olds approach. I gave a big sigh and put the bored down. As soon as I came out from the back Erica and her posse had left and I gave a little jump for joy.
Just then one of the most beautiful girls I had ever seen came in. She had piercing, pretty eyes and the nicest hair that looked so soft. As she came closer to the counter I could feel the sweat on my palms. Shit robin don't mess this up...
As she was about to speak a tall guy walked up behind her. Reaking of body oder and smoke he gave me a wink and said "Billy Hargrove," hold out his hand.
The pretty girl gave Billy a nudge and said,
"Jesus Christ Billy if you're gonna flirt with other girls at least do it without your girlfriend being here..."
My heart sank. All hope was gone. I didn't expect anything anyway as there were almost no people who were gay in the world. Especially in a small town like Hawkins.
"Oh I'm sorry baby please forgive me," He said in a sarcastic tone. He then proceeded to kiss her neck and I gave a look of disgust.
" Not now Billy," she said while pushing him off of her.
"Uhm welcome to scoops ahoy what can I get you..." I said shakily.
"Can I get one-"
Out of no where Steve barged out of the back and said
"I'll take it from here."
"Uh no I think Ive got it Steve," I pushed him away and the girl giggled a little bit. I flashed her a smile and then ran back to the counter.
"Uh sorry about him, what can I, uh, get for you."
