"Dude, Sarah. What is going on with you?" Kyle said as he walked up behind me.
"I hear them." I said softly, not believing what was truly going on myself.
"Hear who?" Zak asked as he walked up next to me.
"Them." I said as I pointed towards the hospital.
"You're hearing the spirits?"
"I-I think so? I don't know. But I know it wasn't you guys because I was way over here and you were over there, 15 feet away. The closer I get to the hospital, the more defined and loud their voices are."
It wasn't an accident. He murdered us.
"See, there it is again. They're telling me their deaths weren't accidents and that some guy murdered them. They keep asking for help." I said, worry and fear filling my voice.
"This is your first paranormal experience?" Zak asked me with disbelief in his voice.
"I guess so. But to be fair, I haven't been anywhere that has been haunted before."
"Well, you're obviously sensitive to it. You are hearing things that none of the rest of us are. They're coming to you and talking to you."
I shook my head in disbelief. Of course it would be me that would be a medium, considering all these years I was the biggest non believer there was. Kyle was snickering to himself before I shot him a glare.
"I just think its funny how you didn't believe in any of this 24 hours ago, yet here you are now. You're a medium." Kyle said while laughing at me.
Get me out of here.
I snapped my head towards the hospital, and started briskly walking inside.
"Guess we are starting the investigation a couple hours early." Zak said as he followed me inside.
As my feet entered the threshold of the hospital, my head began spinning with the amount of voices coming at me, begging for my help. I was seeing faces appear out of nowhere, from places I didn't think a face would be. Walls seemed to be moving at the amount of spirits that were moving around me. Tears started streaming down my face, my mind was getting overwhelmed and I didn't know what to do. I put my hands over my ears, backed myself against a wall and slowly slid down, sobs escaping my mouth. I felt two hands gently grab my wrists, trying to get me to raise my head from my knees to look at them. I looked up and saw Zak trying to get me to look at him, his mouth was moving clearly saying something, but I couldn't hear him with all the commotion going on inside my head. I kept shaking my head and sobbing, when finally his voice broke through the madness, pulling me back to reality.
"Sarah! Hey, it's going to be okay. I have been through his before, I have a gift similar to yours. Focus on only one of the voices at a time, focus on what they are saying." I looked up at him with tears filling my eyes, slowly bringing my hands down from my ears.
Aaron, Nick, and Kyle were standing about 5 feet away, worry filling their faces as Zak was kneeling in front of me. I focused on Zak's blue-green eyes, calming myself down, as he gently grabbed my arms helping me off of the floor.
"You okay?" He softly asked me.
"I think so. It was so overwhelming. Sounded like hundreds of people all trying to get my attention at once, and faces started coming out of random places. Your voice pulled me out of it and calmed me back down. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you." I replied, looking at all of them.
"If it happens again, focus on one of the voices. It will help you tune out the rest of them."
"I did that before I heard your voice, her voice stuck out to me and what she was saying resonated with me."
"What was it?" Kyle asked me as he finally stepped closer to me, comforting me.
"She kept saying her death wasn't an accident, and that she was murdered. I kept hearing her say the number 202 over and over again." I said, remembering all of her words.
"In 1973 a nurse was found dead in room 202, they concluded that her death was an accidental overdose seeing as she had prescription pain killers for a back injury she had. They never did an autopsy on her." Aaron said, grabbing all of our attention.
"Well, I don't think it was an accident after all. Can you take me to room 202?" I asked him.
He nodded his head yes, and gestured for me to follow him down the hall to the stair well. Just as soon as I set foot on the second floor, a woman appeared before me, reaching out for me to follow her. I acknowledged her presence, and followed wherever she was leading. She disappeared in front of a room that had no door on its hinges any longer. I looked up and saw the number 202 half faded.
"She led me here." I whispered, trying to make sense of what was happening.
He killed me here. I didn't overdose on pills, I never even had a back injury. He wrote the prescription for the pills after he injected me with morphine.
"What is your name? Who is he?" I asked as I walked deeper into the room, looking around.
My name is Annie. Doctor John Whitaker is the man that killed me. We had an affair and when he found out I was pregnant he drugged me and injected me with a fatal dose of morphine.
"Where did he inject you?"
My left arm, in the crease of my elbow. My body shows no signs of a back injury. Call my sister, get my body exhumed.
"Uh, Sarah?" Kyle said as he walked towards me.
I turned to face him, getting an astonished look from him. I guess he was just as much in disbelief as I was.
"She was murdered. A doctor John Whitaker injected her with a lethal dose of morphine. She told me to contact her sister to get her body exhumed to prove she had no back injury on her file, or any signs of it on her body. I want to help her." I said, tears forming in my eyes at the thought of this poor woman being stuck here for so long only wanting closure.
"Let's go do some research then, find out who her sister is." Zak said, stepping closer to me taking one of my hands in his.
