I've lived with mother my whole entire life except for when she sent me to California. We play nice most of the time.
She's not the easiest person to talk to, to this day she still doesn't know what I want her to. It actually makes me sad that I can't even tell her I love her but then I'm not sure I do.
My alarm starts to blast at 5:40, I let it sit for awhile then get up. Mother works hard to give me what I wish for. Sometimes I think it's because she's trying to make up for lost time or some other silly thing. Mother works all the time and is always late. She has 2 children, both from different fathers.
Stepping into my bathroom I realize something is different. It's the way the sun is coming in that changed it all. Summer is almost here, I can feel it coming. I plugged in my wand and did a sequence of pique turns to my closet almost hitting my face. After 4 years of ballet you'd think I'd mastered it but no, there's always something you can learn or perfect.
It's a bit hot 80° to be exact. As I search in my drawers I picked out an Aztec pattern crop top and a black skater skirt form the closest.
I undressed and stepped into the shower. As the scolding hot water relaxes my muscles, I realize I've been standing here far to long. I washed and get out. After blow dryer my hair I turn on the wand and got started with my hair. I like doing my hair half naked. That way I don't get to hot and sweat. Also I just like it better.
6:30 and its time to go.
"It's time to get going, hurry" Mother yelled from the down stairs.
As I dressed I searched for my mac, phone, ear phones, and a case. I don't wear makeup unless ABSOLUTELY necessary. I wonder how it feels to put on pounds of makeup.... Like don't you feel sad that you must put makeup on to look pretty? I stuffed everything into my backpack and ran down the steps.
"Hello Mother, Josh?"
"Eat" Mother doesn't state or advice, she demands. One of her best qualities.
After breakfast Josh and I got into the car.
"Marissa??"
"Yeah Josh!" I said struggling to buckle up my seatbelt.
"Yah forgot your shoes" he states.
I look down hoping that he's joking "Fuck!" I ran back inside and graded my converse, deciding then to put them on in the vehicle. "Thanks" I said once I was back in the car.
"No problem" he stuck his head out the window " Bye mum see yah later".
Driving down the road I notice kids maybe my age standing on the corner of our street. What are they doing there?? A big yellowish bus pulls up and they aboard it. I wonder if they really spray each other with silly string and it smells like sweat and nasty in there. Every morning I wonder the same thing.
At school a lady who I don't now yet opens my door. "See yah later mum" I call after her as I get off with Josh right behind me.
"Bye loves see yah in the afternoon"
"Don't get me wrong. She's a lovely person. I'm just..."
"Who we talking bout??" I asked Malicious as I approached my locker. Malicious rolls her eyes. "Wow what's her problem??" I ask Josephine before she goes after her. "
The bell rings and I know I'm late. I slam my locker and run towards first period. Before I have the chance to look up my faces slams right into a locker. "oww you idiot"
"OMG! ha-ha. I'm so sorry, let me help you up."
"Get off!" I push. "You've done enough. Uggh your so paying for this after class." I ran off not even catching the dudes name.
I quietly sit in my seat. Except everyone notices. Great.
