~Five Weeks Later~

I run down the stairs past Travis pulling my right boot on. I grab a pop tart out of the cupboard and throw the front door open as I wrap my scarf around my neck and tug my other boot on. Right as I walk out the door Travis grabs me around the waist and kisses me.

"Mmm! You taste like peanutbutter." I giggle as I kiss him on the cheek.

"I Love you."

"I know." I say as I run down the walk way to my car.

"Ha ha you're so funny." He says.

"Love you too!" I call as I get to my car and get in. I woke up late and am rushing to get to the studio as soon as possible. Today is a writing day with my good friend Shay lee. She's a very punctual individual who will kill me if I'm more than ten minutes late. The only exception with her is if I bring her coffee.

Once I finally get to the studio I see Shay lee's car. I grab my guitar out of the backseat and slowly make my way inside. When I walk inside I notice it smells like coffee and all the windows are open letting in a light breeze.

"Hi, Shay, sorry I'm late. I over slept then I had to shower really quick and I only had a pop tart for breakfast-"

"Oh wow sounds like a lot of work for you. Me? I've only been on a plane for eight hours so I could fly in and write with you. I had four hours of sleep before getting up early to meet you here on time." She says hostile as she rolls her eyes at.

"Shay I'm really sorry. I know I said we'd meet at eight thirty-"

"And now it nine thirty! Only an hour late." She yells at me but she manages to maintain her posture while looking up at me from the couch she's sitting on.

"I'm sorry you don't have to get so upset."

"Why? Why can't I just get freakin' upset for once!"

"I didn't mean to be late!"

"You never do!"

"Shay." I look at her pleadingly trying to let her know I was sorry. Finally she lets out a sigh. "I know," she says kindly, "I'm just PMSing today. Sorry."

"Oh ha ha that's okay." I start to take my guitar out before I realize I forgot when my last monthly was. I try to count back the last few weeks in hopes I'm just late or simply forgot. But quickly I begin to realize that might not be the case. "Oh shit..." I mumble under my breath.

"What is it?" Shay asks turning away from the sound board to face me.

"We have to go." I say as I grab her sleeve and drag her into my car. I ignore her questions about what's going on or what's happening and quickly try to find the nearest drug store.

Once I pull into the parking lot I reach into the backseat and grab my wallet out of my purse. I grab a bill and place it in Shay's hand.

"I need you to run in there and grab me something." I say. I can tell me voice sounds scared and nervous by the way her face changes and she says "Sure, what do you need?"

"A pregnancy test."
