Your eyes lit up at the surprising discovery of the notebook you used when you were younger. You weren't a fan of memory crap, so this was like a once-in-a-lifetime situation. Bracing yourself for the cringe and the oddities within, you take a deep breath and flip through the cover. Hey, this isn't that bad- oh, dear god.

You swiftly flipped through the pages, quickly skimming the terrible art skill you had and the weird ideas you came up with. You were cringing so hard while you were at it. But then, an extremely long page with a date scribbled on top caught your eye. It's that day, you remembered. You reread it for those nostalgic, fond memories you had. Then realized something; it was the trip, which was never finished. You noticed you had drawn an arrow leading to the next page, devoting a promise to yourself in the future, "hi me in the future, i hope you go up that big cool mountain again sometime cause it was so really cool but i wanna go back" it had terrible grammar and no punctuation, but it still had legible, good handwriting for 12-year old.

After refreshing your mind, you just went to lay on your bed. What the hell am I gonna do now? You thought. You were out of school, and Miles was sick. You sighed, and the moment you closed your eyes, your doorknob begin twisting open. Surprisingly, it was Miles- you had just thought of him, and it was perfect timing. You knew he was sick, so instead of giving him a usual hug, you greeted him and sat up. "Hey (Y/N), I'm not sick anymore." As he spoke, his voice sounded a bit hollow and scratchy, and he noticed the notebook was next to you. "Oh-"

He stopped to clear his throat. "Oh right. You're going up there sooner or later, right?" Miles asked, coming over and sitting at your desk chair, facing you.

"Uh-huh." You replied. "This time, I'll make it out alive and make some more discoveries, y'know. I really have nothing better to do at home, so I might make a blog of it and maybe gain some fame."

"I-I see... we should prepare and let your Mom know." He said, standing up.

You stood up as well. "Alrighty, let's do it."

You walked out of the room first, Miles following behind. Luckily your mother hadn't been working at the time, so she was sitting in her favorite spot like usual. Walking into the living room, she automatically looked at you. "Oh someone's finally out of their room. Now that your friend's here, bet he baited ya." She was leaning on her elbow, hand propped up against her face in boredom. "I bet it's something stupid now ain't it?" She gave out a satirical laugh.

"Well, yes- but no. Mom, a few years ago, remember I said I'd go do something with Miles?" You said.

She nodded silently and thought for a moment. "Well it sounds cool and I'm a bit jealous of you." She frowned. "Now I got bills and shit to pay, I don't got anymore freedom like you do. Since you don't bother me like your step-siblings, do whatever the hell you want. Don't you end up in jail." She pointed at you mockingly with her unoccupied hand, "Hey, you know I love you, my little- ugh, you two kids just come here." she stood up and opened her arms, which you and Miles came in for a group hug.

It lingered for a moment until she let go. "You two stay safe. I love you both and I'll miss y'all." She gave you a peck on the cheek and then did a little shoo-wave.

You and Miles walked upstairs and began preparing you for the adventure. Eventually, you and Miles stuffed a large, black drawstring bag filled with some clothes you'd wear often, comfortable clothes to sleep in inside, a change of clothes, a hoodie, and your bat, alongside an actual knife Miles had supplied. You even had a lighter and a good source of water. To finally prepare, you then put together a good adventurous outfit; a black striped sweater with your (F/C) as the second stripe color, some plain jeans, black fingerless gloves, and your skate shoes. You even had a nice little black ushanka with white fur, but you fit it inside your bag for the time being. It felt a bit too exaggerated for all of this, but you knew this Mountain was huge and anything could be inside.
