1: Friends?

Chapter 1

Today was starting of surprisingly well. It was turning into more fall like weather here but it was okay to be because I loved fall time. My brother Finn on the other hand hated it.

"Come on why do you hate fall so much?" I question him needing to change his mind on the idea of hating fall.

"I mean I don't have but like it's summer or winter we don't need a in between." He tries to explain but I definitely don't agree with that.

"That's stupid we so do need a in between phase of summer and winter." Gwen told him from beside me agreeing with my opinion.

"Whatever you guys say." He says causing me and Gwen to laugh lightly.

We were walking to school now after our father harshly woke us up and told us to get our ass ready for school and not make him late for work.

When we were out of the house we never really talked about our dad. Usually because there was nothing to say. After our mother passed away he began drinking first then, he started hitting us.

I would always try and intervene and I know that would make him target me then but I didn't care. I couldn't watch my siblings get beat up.

As we reached up on school we saw another a kid screaming at another boy but we couldn't hear what they were saying yet.

So we got closer then we could see. It was one of the guys that would sometimes pick on Finney. Well he was yelling at this other kid with a bandanna on. I'm not sure what the bully said before hand but whatever it was really pissed of the other kid because he was raising his arms up waving his fingers to the bully telling him to try and hit him.

And the bully lunged at the kid but he dodged it and the bully swung once more and the kid moved away quickly not allowing him to hit him.

Then the kid grabbed his arm and punched the bully right over his nose causing him to fall on the ground. Then the kid started punching him like crazy getting on top of him, blood going everywhere.

"Holy shit." Gwen said looking at the scene before us.

"Let's go guys." Finn said grabbing our arms trying to pull us away from the whole fight.

"Did you see that shit?" Gwen says looking back at the fight that was still continuing while Finn tugged her towards the school.

"Come on Charlie." Finn calls me and I still stick right where I am.

"Charlie." He calls again trying to get my attention.

"Um I'll catch up with you guys." I tell him and he turns around to face me with a worried look appearing on his face.

"It's okay trust me I'll be right there." I say and slowly he nods taking Gwen back to the school.

As I turn back around to look at the scene again I see the crowd that had formed was now gone and the bully that was getting the shit beat out of him was getting helped up by a couple of his friends. And finally I see the kid with the bandanna on sitting on the side of the concrete running his hands through his hair.

I let out a sigh before looking around me then go and make my way over to sit beside him on the ground.

As I near him he huffs.
