♔ Prologue ♔

“Hana~ you're here!” Sunoo cheerfully greeted the girl who simply nodded and stared at her phone without paying much heed to the latter.

The boy formed his lips into a thin line before suddenly engulfing the girl in a hug to which she grimaced at and kept her arms from putting them around him.

“What's this?” She questioned, rather disinterested and uncomfortable.

Sunoo stayed in his position while releasing a sigh and answering, “Happy Monthsary, I knew you would be forgetting it again.”

The girl raised her brows in surprise and muttered, “It has been a month already?”

He pulled back with a wide grin while still holding onto Hana's shoulders, “I asked that to myself too this morning! Time really goes fast.”

Hana laughed awkwardly before removing the latter's hands from her shoulders, “Yeah, right. I totally forgot about it.”

“Well, that's no problem because I have everything planned—” Sunoo was cut off when Hana's other friends walked along.

“Hey, Sunoo~” one girl greeted.

“Hey, you guys,” he flashed them a smile.

“Happy Monthsary, has Hana showed you the present she got for you?” One of the boys chuckled.

Sunoo's eyes widened in enthusiasm, “She got a present? For me? But I thought she forgot. Is this some kind of a surprise?”

His face lit up while making eye contact with Hana, who was smiling uncomfortably and trying her best to avoid looking into his eyes. But I really did forget.

One boy yanked out a box out of nowhere and handed it to Sunoo with a suspicious smile displayed on his face, “Take a look.”

Sunoo gladly took the box, his small didn't seem to falter as he took his time to open it.

He found a bunch of papers inside it with a mini distorted teddy bear and had his name ‘Kim Sunoo’ clearly written on its body with a red marker.

His smile fell as he observed it in confusion before finding a small note underneath everything else, which wrote, ‘This was all a joke, what did you expect? Hana never really liked you, loser. Pick me-s aren't her type, you know? KYS haha.’

One of the friends snapped their fingers and it was at that exact moment Sunoo sensed someone creeping up behind him and pouring a bucket of water from his head.

One of them walked along with an evil smirk before throwing a bunch of garbages at him and caught him off guard, causing him to fall on his butt.

Everyone laughed and mocked him as he froze on his spot. He barely looked up to meet with Hana's eyes for the last time. The girl blankly stared down at him before one of the boys held her by her shoulder and walked away.

The others eventually started walking away when the small doll laying on the ground caught Sunoo's attention. He hesitantly took it and stared at it for a couple of minutes before he started sobbing by himself in the quiet playground.
