You probably wouldn't be surprised to hear that things went from bad to worse after we were taken from the dungeon. The whole meeting with Veronica had totally took us by surprised and we were to shocked to react when those men grabbed us and separated us from our friends. Pulling us by the ears, stone corridors buzzed by us and the pain surged through my body. Minh and Brooke were behind me, coping no better than I was.

"Where are you and your monster like friends taking us" I managed to gulp out although even I could hear the fear in my voice.

[Ow! What was that for?]

"Bang!" I fell to the ground after a hard punch to the head I felt like fainting. But this guy wouldn't stop kicking me. It reminded me of my little sister when she got angry at me, my mum calmly stroking my hair telling me it would be ok then telling a whole lecture about this old Greek story that's been past down for generations. By the 6th kick I came back to reality and noticed that he had let go of my ear so I was free. I'd never loved running and my body agrees with me so my chances were very slim but it was all that I had.
I managed to get to my knees without him noticing my escape. This was crazy if they catch up with me, which they probably would who know what cruel stuff they'll do to me? I caught Brooke's glaze, her eye staring at me as if she could see right through me, she knew what I was planning, I could feel it and I also knew she wanted me to go through with it. I don't know what drove me if it was fear or hope but it just seemed like watching a race in slow motion. One step after another, shouts and cheers echoed behind me. I was sprinting through corridors. They couldn't catch up to me. But suddenly pain surged through my right knee. And it all came back to me the skiing accident in Canberra, wheel chair in Parliament House and knee surgery, lots of knee surgery. I snuck a glance at my knee and saw my knee brace. My sprint turned into limping. With a useless limp I turned the corner only to see a dead end. Foot steps emerged from behind the corner. I was trapped.

This was not at all the way I wanted to die. I imagined myself in a bed, lived a long and enjoyable life. But no it had to be this way going down, down without a fight. Wait I can at least go down fighting. But Except for a little bit of martial arts, I don't know how to fight and I wasn't really listening to Aleisha when she taught me. So you could say I was busted.

"Look what we have here, you dare try to escape from us?" he unleashed a gun from his belt and pointed it at my chest. The lever clicked back and before I could respond the bullet was flying towards me. A sudden pain that I'd never felt before covered my body. I fell backwards. I don't know why but I started twitching my hand and let my mind travel right down under the ground. Suddenly out of the shadows roots surged upwards and covered my body. The squeezed tighter every second and as they did they got brighter and brighter until they were so bright I had to close my eyes. The pain vanished, I contained full conscious, the wond was no longer there.
The men charged. My roots surrounded me like a force field. I rose my hands and the earth trembled some of the men were slowly being devoured by the earth others were facing an impossible fight with my vines. I noticed Minh, Miah and Brooke, horrified staring in shock at me. I walked towards them but I was out of my force field of roots. A men charged at me, I punched him in the face but before my hand hit him he grabbed it and twisted it. I fell backwards.

"My master will reward me for this, we were looking for 10 kids of certain powers and now we found you." He snared while pulling out his knife from his pocket.

"We're coming!" came another man voice, great reinforces, that was exactly what we needed right now. My friends tried to move towards me but the earth was like quick sand. Can't you turn it back to normal ground Miah yelled
"No I don't know how but I'll..." At that moment my eye caught a bright light in the corner. I looked up and saw a hole in the roof covered by a grated lid. 'Ahhhh?'

Minh, Miah and Brooke were being dragged away while other men bolted towards me.

"No!" I cried but it was too late they were helplessly drowning in my quick sand. But that was the least of my worries the guy who nearly stabbed me walked towards me, I don't know why he wasn't running but at least that was good for me. "No escape, lost in a world were you don't fit in."

I looked up at the night sky, he obviously didn't know this was here.

"You are wrong," I shouted placing my foot on a ridge on the wall. "Maybe boys do tease me around saying I can't run and I'm useless maybe my teacher does picks on me for no good reason. But I still have a family who loves me, I still have friends who say I'm talented, beautiful and kind!"
I placed my second foot on the ridge, trying to bind my time carefully. Bump my head hit the grated lid, I forgot all about that but it would be impossible to squeeze through it or remove it.

'Use this lip stick when all hope seemed lost.' my grandma's words
rattled in my brain, when all hope seemed lost, I always thought that meant in a makeup disaster where it was impossible to look good again. But after monsters and that I guessed there was a hidden secret that my grandma knew or didn't know about. I grabbed the lipstick out of my pocket and let my instincts take over, I traced a circle around the lid like I've being do this my whole life. The lip stick got brighter and brighter until the lid was fully detached.

"Wait come back here!" cried the men but I was ready as he came into view I swung the lid at him. I continued to climb up into the moonlight.
