"You think I'm honestly going to take out that trash again?" The girl tapped her foot in annoyance and gave the boy slouched in the chair a long hard look.
"And why not?" He replied, eyes glued to his comic book, not bothering to even glance at the angry figure standing over him.
"Because that would make it the fourth time in a row I have taken out that god damn trash and besides, I need to clear the cash register."
The boy slowly drew his eyes off the colorful page to glare at girls back as she strolled away towards the cash register. He rolled his eyes and sighed dramatically. Slapping the comic down onto the desk and taking his feet off it, he trudged over to the garbage can. He tied the bag in a lousy knot and yanked it from the can.
"I'll find the courage to quit one day Isobel!" He yelled as he pushed open the back door to the petrol station with his back.
"Sure you will!" He heard Isobel yell back. The boy scoffed and exited outside into the night. His worn sneakers splashed water in all directions as he hastily dragged the bag of rubbish towards the dumpster. His clumsy knot was beginning to untie and the bottom of the bag was gathering dirt and starting small holes but he didn't care. All he cared about was getting home and playing video games.
When he reached the dumpster he violently threw the bag in and it hit the side of the wall with a crash before falling into the open dumpster. Amongst the loud crashing noise of the rubbish, the boy heard a smashing sound of a bottle breaking. Startled, he glanced down the alleyway. Finding nothing out of place, he flicked the lid of the dumpster shut, turned around and froze. In his path was a dark silhouette of a man. He was standing confidently in the middle of the alleyway, a few feet away, watching him.
For a few minutes they stood there in silence, the boy to shocked to say anything. But eventually he came to his senses.
"Who are you?" The boy stammered, eyes widening to try and get a better look at the mysterious figure.
"I'm Sally..." The gruff voice replied.
The boy gasped. "But...you can't be.."
-and Joel and Erica..." the man started stalking towards the frightened boy.
"No..." The boy began backing away clumsily.
"...and Randal and Charlotte and Lisa-
"No! No-stop! Get away from me!" The boy yelled in terror, tripping over a half empty pizza box that had fallen through a hole in the rubbish bag he had carried out. He fell to the ground flailing around like a scared octopus.
"Don't you remember?" The man asked him, puddles of water splashing onto the boys cheeks as the tall man stopped, towering over him. "Don't you remember what happened that night?!" The figure yelled angrily, hands exposing long sharp claws on the tips of his fingers. Pointed teeth began to grow in his wide open mouth. The boy's scream was cut short as a pair of bright scarlet eyes descended down and claws slashed at the boys chest. Blood spurted everywhere. It decorated the side of the dumpster. Slash after slash after slash until the boy's gurgling had stopped and his body gone limp.
The mans shadowed face glared at the corpse. His teeth and claws retracted and his blood red eyes faded to a brown as he growled. "Don't you remember?"

Isobel gathered the cash from the register, leaving enough money for the float and went over to the empty desk. She saw the open comic book still lying there. That was strange. Surely taking out the trash didn't take this long. But this was Logan we were talking about.Isobel rolled her eyes, grabbed the comic and an empty slushy cup that was sitting on the desktop and headed towards the back door. She pushed it open with her foot and headed outside.
"Logan?" Isobel called out, starting to walk towards the dumpster. "I've got your stupid comic book and I will throw it away if you don't stop messing around and lock up!" She stopped in her tracks as she caught sight of the blood across the dumpster.
"Logan...?" Isobel let the items she was carrying drop to the ground as she neared the painted dumpster. She made her way slowly, cautiously towards the garbage. She stopped in front of it, inhaling and exhaling before lifting the lid to take a peek. The first thing she noticed was the smell. It was horrid. The worst thing she had ever experienced. Next she saw the contents of the dumpster. There was a boy, well bits of him. The bits were scattered everywhere, mangled and bloodied. The only thing that was recognizable was the head. Logan's eyes and mouth wide in terror, witnessing whatever had occurred moments before death.
Isobel screamed and fell backwards into a puddle. She kept screaming, tears streaming down her face in shock. She wiped her face with the back of her hand but her hand was wet from the puddle she landed in. Isobel's scream grew louder as she saw the red liquid on her hand. The puddle she had fallen in was not rain. It was blood. Logan's blood. Frantically, Isobel tried to wipe off the blood on her shirt. The image of Logan's dissembled body lying in the dumpster burned into her mind. Of his eyes, wide and unseeing.
Amongst Isobel's terrified screaming another sound could be heard in the distance. A low pitched howl. The howl of a wolf.
