Apologies and Aftermath

"Ash, give it back." Shay whined, trying to grab her coffee from him.

"No, it's mine now." Ash said, taking a sip.

"You suck dude." Shay said, throwing herself across Cal's legs.

"Good morning people who apparently live in my house now." Laur said walking out of her room with Mike and into the kitchen.

"Aw good morning Laur." Ash said handing her a cup of coffee

"Good morning Ash and thank you." She replied, grabbing the cup from his hand.

"You know, it's a beautiful day. We should hangout by the pool today." Nia said cutting fruit.

"That's a good idea." Shay replied.

"Everyone finish their breakfast and then go get dressed." Nia said, putting plates in front of everyone.

"Okay mom." Cal said, rolling his eyes and Ash smacked the back of his head. The group sat around the table and ate their breakfast. Laur heard a knock at the door so she got up to answer it. She opened the door to find a crying Luke.

"Luke hey what's wrong?" Laur asked concerningly.

"Can I come in?" Luke replied looking down at his feet, not wanting to make eye-contact with the girl.

"Yeah of course. Is everything okay? Do you want to go talk about it?" She questioned.

"I need to talk to you." Luke said, finally looking at her.

"Let's go talk in private?" Laur suggested and Luke just nodded. The two walked into the kitchen where they were met face to face with Calum.

"Laur?" Cal said in an irritated tone.

"Yes Calum?" She asked innocently.

"Where are you going and why are you taking Luke with you?" He replied.

"He was upset and needed someone to talk to." She responded, shrugging her shoulders and walking away.

"So we're just gonna let her go with him?" Cal spoke

"They'll be fine Cal." Ash replied as he got up to put the dishes in the sink.

"I don't think it's a good idea." Mike retorted, trying to get up.

"Michael if you don't sit your ass back down. You are not going in that room." Shay said sternly, grabbing his arm.

"Shay. Let me go." He tried to threaten.

Shay strengthened her hold on his arm, simply keeping eye contact with him. Eventually Michael backed down.

"Sit down, Michael." Shay said, letting him go.

"I'm going in there." Cal said, also getting up.

"No, you're not." Shay said, not bothering to physically stop him this time.

"What if he hurts her?" He responded, desperately trying to justify going in there.

"Please," She snorted, "Luke? He's like a harmless puppy. All bark, no bite."

A frown appeared on Calums face, "He made her cry." He hissed.

"Yeah, and so did you and me, probably. You gonna beat us up too?" Shay shot back.

Calum fell silent, looking at Michael for support.

"Don't look at me to solve your problems, this isn't my relationship."

"Yeh, well this isn't a relationship. And it's not about that. It's about leaving Laur alone with that dickhead." Calum said, focusing his attention back on Shay.
