~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~The only time Analise Carter feels like herself is when she is on the ice. When she moved to the small town of Balmore the summer before her Freshman year, to her dismay, Analise discovered that Balmore High School didn't have a Girl's ice hockey team. However, Analise was determined to play for the school. She turned up to team try-outs, she was shocked to be appointed Co-captain. This gained the boys respect and she soon had a group of boys that seemed like they would protect her with their lives.
Analise's ideal life is suddenly uprooted part-way through her Sophomore year, when her parents drop a bomb shell on her. Analise Carter is adopted. Her family suddenly feel like strangers. She doesn't know who she can trust, and in turn, Analise falls off the deep end. The only constants in her life is hockey, and her friends... or so she thought. Analise does her best to continue through her life with good grades to pass her Sophomore year, keeping her fitness up to play the sport she loves and navigating her relationship with her 'family' and friends.
I've started this story with the intent of not writing a cliché. Whilst I love a cliché novel, I want to challenge myself to write something a little bit more original. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Something that you may find in the novel, is that you may find the characters hard to like, or they may seem like horrible people. While I'm aware this is not the 'ideal' kind of character to have in a book, I want my characters to be authentic and real. Everyone is human. Everyone makes mistakes. Life isn't always beautiful, with a Prince riding in on a white horse to save the damsel in distress. I want my book and characters to show the realness of humanity.
I want to thank anybody who is still reading. Thank you for choosing to support my book. It may not seem much to anyone, but even if I have one reader that reads all my chapters that's all I need.
Please enjoy the novel that is to come. I hope you all have wonderful days. <3
