Arriving in front of the cafe, I paused to take a few peaceful deep breaths before stepping inside
Upon entering, I scanned the cafe, searching for Kai's familiar form. Finally spotting him, He was sitting with a girl, possibly just a friend. Putting on a smile, I made my way towards their table
"Heyyy," I greeted, capturing their attention
"Hey there, have a seat," Kai greeted me as I settled in front of them. Despite trying to stay calm, my heart raced seeing the girl so close to him
"We already gave our order. I was about to order for you too, but you didn't come. So, what do you want? I'll order it for you," Kai offered kindly
I smiled and replied, "Just a cold coffee with extra whipped cream." Kai chuckled at my request before heading to place the order, along with theirs
As we all took sips of our coffee, Kai spoke up again. "So Y/n," he began, and I braced myself, knowing what was coming. I couldn't ignore the signs
"Meet Nikki, my girlfriend," he said

Releasing a shaky breath, I set down my cup of coffee and offered Kai a smile. "Omg Kai," I whispered slowly, as if stunned by the news. "Are you for real?" Kai's smile widened in response
Feeling the heat rise to my cheeks, I fought back the urge to tear up
"O-oh my goodness, I am so happy," I exclaimed in an excited tone, turning to look at Nikki. She returned my gaze with a sweet smile
"Ah, Kai," I murmured, lightly scratching my forehead with my index finger. "I gotta go," I announced abruptly, standing up
Kai looked at me with concern "You just got here, it's barely been 5 minutes"
"Yeah," I managed to smile "Kai, I have really important work to do. I'm sorry for leaving like this"
If I don't leave now, I might break down right here
"I'll catch up with you tomorrow, and it was nice meeting you, Nikki," I glanced at her and she returned the smile. Turning back to Kai, he asked, "Is everything alright?" I nodded quickly

"Yes everything is ok, Just some dad's email issues, you know" He finally smiled and I left
