1983 WAS THE YEAR BELLADONNA DURAN STOPPED CARING. She cared when Will Byers went missing, she cared when people mysteriously disappeared and came back to life, she cared when she told her family her biggest secret and they accepted her, but then she stopped caring after her secret festered through Hawkins High.
After the day that someone spread the rumor that she only liked the same sex as herself, she was done with caring what others thought of her. Hate them first before they can hate you. Well, they definitely did hate her.
And the rumors did not help in the slightest with the girl next door that she just could not hate. In fact, it was the opposite of hate. She liked her. One of the worst things that she could ever do in a town like Hawkins!
Nancy Wheeler; Hawkins High's Residential Princess. She had the smarts, the charm, the looks, and the smile. Damn that smile could make Donna weak in the knees. But there was one problem, well there were multiple, but Nancy was dating former Hawkins king; Steve Harrington.
Donna didn't know what he had that she didn't. She had better hair than him, a comparable smile, and she actually knew how to write an essay by herself, so why would he choose him over her?
Who knows, who cares? Belladonna surely didn't. Not one bit. Not at all. Okay, maybe a little bit.
