             Chapter Eight: The Sickness

I woke up to my father shaking me. "Its time for your first treatment." He said with a frown. "Great..." I said sarcastically.

(I'm going to start talking about Nikki and her point of view so don't get all confused when I talk about her please!)

         Nikki

It had been two days since Galaxy or any of the goths had been at school. Not that that's very long but in the short time that I've known Galaxy I've learned that shes a goody-goody two-shoes. So for her to miss two days of school in a row doesn't seem normal. And since shes been hanging out with those creatures of the night shes been the center of attention for Molly... Speaking of which... I wonder where Molly was... just then the bell for class rang.

After almost ten minutes into music Vixion came into class with Midnight right behind her. Was something wrong with Vixion? She looks like shes really sick... no... she looks like shes... dying. I snapped out of my thought to have Vixion sit on one side of me and Midnight on the other and them whisper in my ear. "At eight tonight, meet us behind the old shoe department." They both whispered in my ear at the same time. They started playing their instruments and completely ignored my 'What? Why me?' face. I guess I just sat there with that face for a while because I got detention for not doing what I was asked in class.

I got out of detention at six thirty. That gave me enough time to go home, get changed, do my hair and make-up again. I started walking to the old shoe department at almost seven forty. I got there exactly at eight. Wow, I'm always late... miracles... they fall out of the sky now-a days. I thought as I giggled. I walked around to the back to see all of the goths there. Holy... walk out of a horror movie? This is really creepy... what the hell could they need me for anyway. I thought as I sighed. "Hi Nikki." Said Tiraq with a wink. The way he said it sent a chill down my spine. "What do you... people need me for." I said with a smirk. They all looked at me for a split second and I noticed that Midnight wasn't where she started sitting. "Where did Mi-" I was cut off as a bag was put over my head. I screamed and everything went black.

        Galaxy

I was very tired and felt sick. I hadn't realised that the tests they run on you make you feel like crap. I sighed as my dad walked in with a plate full of food. "Dad, I hate hospital food! Why can't you run across the street and get me a hamburger and a coffee?" I said as I gave him my puppy dog eyes. "Because your sick, and foods like that aren't healthy." He said as he handed me the plate. I groaned as I shoved a carrot in my mouth and forced my mouth to chew. "They might not be healthy for MOST people... but for me their miracle healers." I said with a smirk, as I still gave him my puppy dog eyes. "Galaxy Becky Silindie, stop nagging me and eat your dinner!" He said walking out of the room. "But, PLEASE!!" I shouted after him. I heard a faint 'No!'. I sighed and ate the rest of the food.

I woke up the next morning at six to my Dad snoring. "Great... another pain full day." I said to myself as I got up from the bed and went to the bathroom to do what I could to my hair. God... I'm really pale... and I have black under my eyes! I thought as I looked down to my hands. They looked almost see-through. The Doctors did say that I had had the leukemia for almost a month and a half but I didn't think that I would already be like this. I looked back into the mirror to notice that my hair had started thinning. Oh well isn't this awesome, I'm going to be bald in the matter of weeks! I thought as I ran my hand in my hair. My Dad knocked on the door. "It's time for the next tests and then the radiation." He said as he coughed. It seemed as though he was getting a cold. Or... at least hopefully its a cold.

I started walking towards the elevator. "Level five... ten... or nine?" I said to my dad. "I dunno... chose one." He said sighing. I looked at him with my little 'Are you serious...' face. He nodded and I picked five. As soon as the doors opened a Doctor came up to me handing me a wheelchair. "You're going to want to sit, its a long walk and walking with that broken leg is going to get pretty annoying." She said and motioned us to follow. I hopped into the wheelchair and my dad started pushing me down the hall. I'd have to admit, besides all the tears and pain, this was kinda fun! We got to this room with blue, white and tan walls. Tan tiles and a beautiful dark blue ceiling. It looked like we where standing in the middle of the ocean. "You're going to have a cat-scan, go through those doors over there and get into the machine, you have to hold completely still for it to work. Oh and Mr.Salindie you can take a seat in one of these chairs and wait till we're done."

My Dad nodded and took a seat, the Doctor went into this little room off to the side and I went through the doors. The room looked just like the other one but even more beautiful, how that was possibal I have no idea. There was this big machine in the middle of the room. I rolled to the machine and climbed onto this little bed thingy. I could see the Doctor through this glass at the other side of the room. Her voice came over a speaker. "Are you ready to begin?" She asked. "Yes!" I said and the bed started to move. It moved into the machine and this thing over my head started moving back and forth. I closed my eyes and just enjoyed the peace of the hum of the machine.

After what seemed like minutes but probably was almost half an hour the machine stopped humming and the bed moved out of it. The Doctors voice came over the speaker again. "Ok, we're done... you and your Father can make your way to level ten for radiation." I sighed and hopped back into the wheelchair. I rolled out to my father who pushed me to the elevator and I pushed the button for level ten.

After the radiation I felt like I was going to be sick again. I got out of the wheelchair and walked the rest of the way back to my room. When I got there I hurried to the bathroom and threw up.  Stupid radiation... stupid leukemia... stupid everything! I thought as I started to cry. After a while I got up and went to bed. Dad went home that night, he needed a good nights sleep... and so do I. I fell asleep at twelve. And woke up at two to find something written on my hand. "Come to the school parking lot at nine tomorrow night." It said. What the... how did... I fell asleep again before I could think it out.
