"Come in, make yourself comfortable," said Lisa as she led Chaeyoung, her friend, to her house.
"Sorry for the intrusion," said Chaeyoung and followed Lisa to the living room from behind.
"Jennie, I'm back. I bring a friend along" shouted Lisa.
Jennie, who was inside her room doing her make-up, rushed out upon hearing Lisa's voice.
"Welcome back. And who's this?" said Jennie, looking at Chaeyoung.
"Hi, Unnie. I'm Park Chaeyoung, Lisa's classmate," answered Chaeyoung, introducing herself.
"Ah, Chaeyoung. I heard a lot about you," replied Jennie.
Lisa's eyes are checking on Jennie, noticing the older girl is dressed well.
"Are you going to work? Aren't you off today?" asked Lisa, wondering.
"Yes, but they called me to come. There is a shortage of stuff, so my leaves are changed to tomorrow. I already cooked. Just heat it up when you want to eat it," answered Jennie.
"Sorry, Chaeyoung. Unnie can't greet you properly," added Jennie guiltily while looking at the teen girl.
"It's fine, unnie," said Chaeyoung.
"Careful on your way there," reminded Lisa.
"I will. See you tonight," replied Jennie.
Chaeyoung's eyes widened when she saw Lisa and Jennie kissing each other's cheeks. She hurriedly controlled herself from being rude with the way she looked at them.
After apologising to Chaeyoung again and bidding goodbye, Jennie left the two friends alone in the house. Chaeyoung looked at Lisa and said,
"Wow, I never saw close siblings bond like that."
"Hm? She's not my sister, she's my stepmother," responded Lisa, correcting Chaeyoung.
"She what?!!" Chaeyoung shouted accidentally upon hearing Lisa's answer. She was surprised to know the truth about their relationship.
"My stepmother, Kim Jennie," answered Lisa, rephrasing her words.
"Then why do you call her by name? You two even kiss like lovers. Don't tell me that you two are actually dating!" said Chaeyoung, assuming things based on what she saw.
"What are you saying? We don't have that kind of relationship other than stepmother and stepdaughter," replied Lisa, assuring her friend.
"Really? It doesn't look like that to me" said Chaeyoung, still suspicious of Lisa and Jennie.
"Just because we live together after my dad died and she's 5 years older than us, it doesn't mean I date her. Now, what do you want to drink?" asked Lisa, changing the topic.
"Later. Can you sit first? I have questions to ask," said Chaeyoung as she sat and tapped the empty space next to her.
"What is it? Jennie again?" asked Lisa, knowing what was bothering her friend.
Obeying her friend's request, Lisa takes her place on the sofa. As soon as Lisa sat, Chaeyoung flashed Lisa a question.
"Yes, I'm so curious. How long have you two been acting like that towards one another?"
"I think... from the start. My late father introduced her to me and she has been like that with me, I just went along since my late father told me to be nice with her," answered Lisa honestly.
"You like her, don't you?" asked Chaeyoung with a smirk, knowing she had caught the truth.
"What are you saying? Stop being nonsense," replied Lisa coolly, denying.
