How it works.

Wonder of U is an automatic stand and a major antagonistic force in the eight part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. It first debuted in chapter 84, The Head Doctor of TG University Hospital (In a later release, the arc was renamed to The Wonder of You, foreshadowing the reveal of the stand's name).

Wonder of U is a humanoid stand with two different forms. Its basic form is a robotic humanoid, notably lacking any legs. The stand's head somewhat resembles a microphone. The stand's face lacks a mouth and has two large round eyes surrounded in a sun pattern, resembling the design on Tooru's shirt. The stand also has an appendage resembling a blade on each arm, similar to Kars' bone blades. Whether these blades can be used for offensive purposes is unknown. Wonder of U's next form appears to be a fusion between the base form and the Head Doctor disguise. Wonder of U now dons the clothes of the Head Doctor, featuring sun designs on the shirt and wearing the telltale bowler hat. Wonder of U also features a pair of legs. Aside from the addition of clothing and legs, the stand's body is almost identical physically.

Once a person pursues wou they get subjected to a series of calamities with one clear purpose, kill them.

If multiple people are chasing it wou will be hell bent on killing the one closest to it,

It is revealed in Jojolion chapter 108 that even after Toru's death, Wonder of U can act due to the fact that it represents, and is made from the idea of the Calamity itself, with Rai even theorizing that it was born from a some type of "calamity energy", only Gappy's bubbles could harm it.

and something else Wonder of U is a sentient Stand that is considerably expressive and holds a calm yet threatening demeanor. It's surprised when Rai Mamezuku gets as close as a few centimeters to it. When it's wounded by Josuke's bubbles, Wonder of U is shocked that anyone could wound it.

With Toru's Stand Wonder of U, he is able to protect himself from attackers by sending "calamities" in their direction. If someone even has the intent to pursue him or the Head Doctor, they will be met with danger. The more they want to pursue them, the more dangerous the thing gets sent their way.

Abilities

Illusion Creation

One of Wonder of U's abilities is to fabricate illusions. The most notable example of this is when the stand disguises itself as the Head Doctor Satoru Akefu. In another instance, Wonder of U is seen creating separate illusions of the Head Doctor, such as the several attacks on Mitsuba and Jobin Higashikata. These illusions are also shown appearing in surfaces such as picture frames.

Phasing

Wonder of U is able to effortlessly pass through walls. It is shown doing this in order to reach Josuke faster during the Endless Calamity arc. Wonder of U can also linger within these spaces, as shown when it stays inside a wall to avoid stepping into a room.

Endless Calamity

Endless calamity is Wonder of U's primary ability. It is an automatic ability that activates whenever someone attempts to "pursue" Tooru, Wonder of U, or the Head Doctor. The ability's definition of "pursuit" is extremely vague, meaning simply thinking about pursuing or carrying out an action that indirectly leads to pursuit will activate it. When someone is affected by the calamity, objects that come into contact with them will have devastating effects. Even an object slightly brushing the victim will result in massive damage. Any object, from rain to cigarette butts, can and will damage them. Objects will also begin to attract towards the victim, also resulting in devastation to them. The calamity will only cease when the intent of pursuit does
