-Nat's P.O.V-
I ran into my class and closed the door dramatically. I fell onto is breathing heavily... I mean you would be to if you had just sprinted to your class.... right? "Ms. Jones," I heard a cool voice say. I opened my eyes to see Mr. Hanely. "Yes Sir?" I asked with a sorry smile on my face. "So glad you could join us. Now take a seat!" he said sternly with and accented "T". I gulped and then quickly retreated to my seat in the back of the class, looking at the floor the whole time.
I slid into my seat and pulled out my text book from my bag and dropped it on my desk with a louder thump then I indented. Mr. Hanely stopped speaking and shot me a glare. I slowly look up at him and then flashed him an apologetic smile. He shook his head and then returned to his lecturing. I exhaled. I pulled back my hair into a ponytail and opened up my text-book. I stood it up so that it was hiding my face. I rested my head down onto my arms and started to drift asleep. As soon as I had reached a state of unconsciousness, a small piece of paper that had been crumpled up into a ball, hit me in my face. I bolted away and immediately started to file through the pages in my text-book mumbling words that crossed my sight on the page.
I glanced over the girl in front of me's shoulder and then exhaled. My instinct had been right. Page 74. All I had to do now was figure out who had waked me up. I looked around the room and my eye right fell upon a small girl sitting in the corner. She had long straight blonde hair with a few highlights that was pulled into a ponytail. She was wearing a lot of eye make up.She was doodling in the corner of her notebook. A small cartoon monster was being created carefully in black ink. She caught my eye and I raised my eyebrows at her. She smiled slightly and nodded. I mouthed the words 'thank you' to her and her smiled grew broader then she returned to her doodling. Maybe I had a friend, I mean yeah there was Jake, but he didn't count as a friend. I sighed. What was I going to do about that big, stupid idiot? I smiled to myself. He reminded me so much of Adam. I shuddered at the thought of that last memory of Adam and me.... that hurtful nubtron. I wonder what he was doing right now. Oh who cared. He was such a jerk.
I looked at the small girl in the corner again. She was making the finishing touches on her monster. I smiled softly. Then the high pitched bell rung in my ears. My eyes widened. The really should make a law about making those bells quieter, I mean people may die! Don't they care about that?! I can see the headline now 'High School Girl Killed by School Bell Syndrome' or 'High Pitched School Bell Terrifyingly Kills High School Student'.
While I was brainstorming my proposal to the president and news papers, I got swept into the ocean of students. Soon I was slammed into a very muscular chest. I put my hands out in front of me and pushed myself off the body in front of me so I could stand up properly. I looked up to see a smiling Jake. The confused look that was on my face a moment before was now gone and replaced with a cold glare. He stretched his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. "Hey sweatheart" he said. "You did that on purpose didn't you" I grunted through gritted teeth. The already gigantor smirk grew across his idiotic face. "I don't know what you mean," he said. I threw a punch into his hard chest and tried as hard as I could not to wince.... I failed. I grabbed my fist. "Son of a mother duck! Ohhh shitochi mushrooms! Owwww!" He chuckled. "Ughh!" I said and turned away and started to walk away. Something grabbed me around the waist and it was as if I was walking very fast on a treadmill. I pulled and rugged on air and then finally gave up. I spun around and glared at the chuckling Jake. "Not funny!" I hissed. "No no your right....It's hilarious!" I was ready to explode!
I quickly spun around from Jake and walked to my locker. "Where's that god damn Crunchie bar?!" I mumbled as I scourged around my already messy locker. I started to push things about and look everywhere inside. I was probably making so much noise the Eskimos could hear me in Antarctica. "Are you okay?" asked a small voice behind me. I shuffled around a bit more then gave up and slammed my locker door. "I can't believe it! Even betrayed my chocolate! Not THAT was something I NEVER thought would happen.... we've been through so much." I turned around to find the monster- doodling, highlighted-hair girl that had been sitting in the corner of my last class standing in-front of me. "Oh hi! me? oh yeah. I'm Fine. I was just a little frustrated and then I couldn't find my chocolate car...." her eyes widened and I slapped myself in the forehead. "Oh god. I'm sorry" I said. The girl chuckled. "It's ok." She said and extended her right hand. "I'm April." She said with a smile. I shook her hand. I liked this girl. "Natalie." I said, "But you can call me Nat." What the heck. She smiled. "Umm do you want to sit together for lunch?" she asked. I grinned. "Sure!" I said, "That would be great!" Then we both started to chat and walk and talk, something I had never really been that good at, to the cafeteria. I was really beginning to like this girl.
