Y/N and Eddie were the best of friends they were very very different people stylistically but that didn't matter. Eddie was basically a rock god with a nerdy obsession with Dungeons and Dragons and everyone thought he was a weirdo and a freak but really— he had a heart of gold especially when it came to Y/N he cared so much about that girl. Y/N on the other hand was a girl who was friends with everyone she was a preppy girl who dressed completely different to Eddie, she didn't really like Dungeons and Dragons but that didn't matter to Eddie— Y/N was even on the cheer team she loved doing cheer practices and performing in front of the school for her basket ball team and Eddie was always there to see her do her routine he even helped her sometimes when she struggled with a new routine.
Y/N would always give Eddie lifts back to the trailer park where he lived even though it was on the other side of town to where Y/N lived she didn't mind giving him lifts back home from school and she would even pick him up. Y/N loved when they were in the car together because it was those moments that she cherished with him before they would go their separate ways at school, Eddie would hang out with his friends and Y/N would do the same with her friends from the cheer squad. When they passed each other in the school corridor Eddie always winked at Y/N whenever he saw her and she smiled back at him every single time.
Eddie and Y/N never argued with one another so when this specific argument happened it really upset her. Y/N joined Eddie in the forest near the school because he was going to be selling some weed to Chrissy who was also on the cheer team with Y/N, the two girls got on quite well and she thinks she could sense that maybe Chrissy had a small crush on Eddie but was too ashamed to say anything about it.
"So what exactly are you selling her?" Y/N asked Eddie as he got out his little metal lunch box filled with drugs
"Whatever she wants I guess."Eddie tells Y/N and she nods her head, soon enough Chrissy came over and joined the pair on the bench, she looked nervous and very anxious when she sat down
"There's nothing to worry about, no one ever comes out here. We're safe. I promise." Eddie reassures Chrissy
"So how does this work exactly?" She asked still sounding nervous
"Just like any other old sale. Except cash only and for obvious reasons, no receipts." Eddie said and Chrissy still looked unsure
"I'll do you a half ounce for, twenty what do you say? Plenty of bang for your buck. Should last you a while." Eddie said, Y/N just sat there and didn't say a word, there was a crunch sound which made Chrissy jump and as she gasped and turned her head she realised it was just a squirrel scurrying up a tree.
"We don't have to do this just give me the word and I'll walk away." Eddie sighed"No is not that. I don't want you to go." Chrissy finally spoke
"It's just— do you ever feel like you're losing your mind?" She asked"Um— you know just on a daily basis." Eddie told her
"I feel like I'm losing my mind right now, doing a drug deal with Chrissy Cunningham. The queen of Hawkins High." Eddie continued to say and as the minutes went on Y/N was getting more and more annoyed— she thought this was going to be some quick deal and then she would leave with Eddie but once him and Chrissy started talking and reminiscing on stuff from the past Y/N was getting agitated. You could even say Y/N was jealous to a certain extent and she knew why, Y/N started to have a crush on Eddie about four months ago— it came out of nowhere but everything just started to make sense for her as to why she was falling for her best friend. Eddie and Chrissy were laughing together and smiling brightly, eventually the drug deal was over and Chrissy left Eddie to pack up his stuff.
"Well that was fun." Eddie smiled
"Yeah thrilling(?!)" Y/N said sarcastically as she grabbed her car keys out of her bag and started to walk away
"Wait up Y/N!" Eddie called as he jogged over to his best friend
"We hanging out later?" He asked Y/N"Not tonight Eddie I'm just going to go home." Y/N said to her best friend
"What's wrong? You always come over you never go home." Eddie said
"I just don't feel like it tonight. I'll drive you back but I'm not staying." Y/N said as she continued to walk away and make her through the forest and instead going straight to her car, she slung her bag on the back seats of her car and waited for Eddie to get in the seat beside her
"Are you okay?" He asked Y/N
"I'm fine Eddie." She lied, she started the car and left the school car park and drove her best friend home, she had one hand on the steering wheel and her other hand was in her hair as she leaned to the side just focusing on the road. The drive back was in silence the only noise was the engine running smoothly, Y/N pulled into the trailer park and stopped her car outside of Eddie's trailer,
"Right well I guess I'll see you tomorrow." Eddie said as he went to open the car door, all Y/N did was nod her head slowly without saying anything Eddie then closed the car door without getting out, he looked at Y/N and she looked at him because she thought he already got out.
"What are you doing?" She asked
"Are you going to tell me what's wrong?" He asked
"I keep telling you I'm fine."
"And I know that you're not. You've been in a weird mood since we were with Chrissy earlier." Eddie said and Y/N rolled her eyes but this time Eddie caught on
"So it's Chrissy? What's she done?""Just drop it Eddie. She hasn't done anything."
"Well clearly she has so you might as well just tell me." Eddie said and Y/N just stayed quiet
"Why would you even care about Chrissy anyway?" Eddie asked"I don't." Y/N said
"You don't?"
"No."
"No what?"
"I don't know!" Y/N finally snapped
"Just tell me Eddie because I'm curious. Why do you think she's interested? Do you think for one minute she would even be with you if you weren't Eddie Munson the drug dealer." Y/N said
"Are you that blind?!" Y/N snapped"At least she treats me like I'm somebody!" Eddie said in anger
"Yeah but would she love you if you were nobody?!" Y/N asked, the emotions were running high for the pair,
"Nobody loved me when I was nobody!" Eddie shouted back at Y/N
"I did!" Y/N shouts back, finally and accidentally telling Eddie how she's felt. Eddie looked at Y/N with sad eyes as he could see the tears brimming in her eyes, she quickly wiped them away
"Y/N." Eddie said softly to her
"Just get out of my car." Y/N whispered without even looking at Eddie, he waited for a minute hoping she would look at him but Y/N never did— Eddie got out of her car and slammed the door shut making Y/N jump slightly she didn't even wait for him to go inside his home before she reversed the car and sped off down the road making her way back home. She wiped away the tears from her eyes to stop her vision from being blurry as she drove herself home.
