Y/N didn't see Eddie for about two weeks, she only saw him around school and that was it she didn't even give him lifts home or pick him up in the morning for school she just made the journey on her own. When they passed each other in the school corridors Eddie would always try and talk to Y/N but she just avoided him and that really did upset Eddie, he adored Y/N and seeing her be sad around school broke his heart.
Y/N was cleaning her car one evening after school outside of her house and she found Eddie's denim jacket in the back which he kept there just in case he needed it, she sighed heavily as she picked up the clothing object and she held it close to her chest and she instantly got his scent from it, she held it tightly as she walked into her house and picked up the phone to call Eddie. The phone rang a couple of times before she heard his voice for the first time in just over two weeks.
"Hey, um, I was cleaning out my car and I found your jacket do you want come and pick it up?" She asked
'Oh. Right yeah okay I'll be over in a few minutes.' Eddie said softly
"Cool." Y/N said before putting the phone back on it's handle, she went back outside and continued to clean her car and fix up some parts that needed attending too. It didn't take very long before Y/N looked up and saw Eddie walking up her driveway, she grabbed the jacket from inside the car and held it in her hand as he approached her, "Here you go." Y/N said as she held the jacket out in front of her for him to take.
"Thanks." Eddie said as he took his jacket back, he then smiled at Y/N and started to laugh a little to himself
"What's so funny?" She asked him
"Nothing, Y/N really it's nothing." He tried to hold back his laughter which just irritated Y/N
"Well it's clearly something." She huffed
"You have some grease on your face." He pointed to her left cheek where the black mark was, Y/N then looked in her wing mirror and saw the small patch on her face which Eddie was laughing at— she licked her finger and rubbed the mark off her face
"Better?" She asked him
"Beautiful." He said and Y/N looked away from Eddie and sighed,
"Well you've got what you're here for you should go." Y/N told him.
"Y/N come on, this is stupid." Eddie huffed as he sat on the bonnet of the car
"There's nothing to say Eddie."
"How can you say that? There's plenty to say I haven't seen you in two weeks and it's killed me. You're my best friend Y/N." Eddie said and those two words hit Y/N in the chest like a painful punch, she then joined Eddie on the bonnet of her car and avoided eye contact with him "So you like me is that what this is about?" Eddie asked Y/N
"Please Eddie don't make me say it again." Y/N sighed heavily
"You never gave me a chance to reply that night when you took me home you just kicked me out of your car without hearing what I had to say."
"Because I knew what you were going to say! I didn't want to ruin our friendship so I kicked you out because I didn't want to hear you reject me." Y/N admitted and Eddie just stared at Y/N
"I didn't know you felt that way about me." He said quietly and Y/N just shrugged her shoulders,
"There's no good reason in make-believing that we could ever exist again I can't be your friend, can't be your lover can't be the reason we hold back each other from falling in love with somebody other than me." Y/N said passionately to Eddie
"You never let me respond that night." Eddie told Y/N
"Because like I said I knew what you were going to say." Y/N said
"I don't think you do Y/N." Eddie said with a smile and as Y/N finally looked up at Eddie he pulled her close and kissed her lips softly which did take Y/N by surprise but she kissed him back a little bit. When the two pulled away Eddie smiled softly at Y/N
"You like me." Y/N stated
"I have done for a long time you've just been too blind." Eddie laughed
"But Chrissy and—"
"Chrissy? Y/N I do not like Chrissy I never have where did you get that from?" Eddie asked
"In the forest you two were just so—"
"Oh you're so stupid sometimes." Eddie laughed as he kissed Y/N again and the two smiled into the kiss, when the two stopped Eddie pulled Y/N into his chest for a hug and leaned his cheek on the top of her head. "It's always been you Y/N and it's always going to be you every single time. I am always going to choose you." Eddie told Y/N who smiled up at Eddie before leaning back into his chest. "Does this mean that I can start getting lifts with you in the car again?"
"Oh I see, you kiss me and tell me you like me just so you can ride in my car?" Y/N asked
"What? N-no of course not I—" Eddie stuttered which made Y/N giggle
"I'm joking. Of course you can ride in the car I've missed you." Y/N said
