Dust clouds billowed in the distance. The animals fixated their eyes on two figures sprinting by the river. By borrowing the power of a cheetah, Chris and Martin competed against each other after their adventure, trampling grass, and splashing mud with their paws.

Chris grinned from ear to ear. "The loser has to do anything the victor says."

"I'll wipe that smug off your face soon enough." Martin smirked.

Martin increased his pace, and it worked in his favor, he lined up with Chris until his younger brother tapped the back of Createrra VX, crowning him as the victor. Chris raised his arms and cheered. Martin hunched, wiping the sweat off his chin.

"Are you all right, Martin? Let's take a short break before we head back to Tortuga."

"Sounds good to me," he said, panting.

The river's surface sparkled under the cheerful sun. Chris, bent on one knee, cupped his hands in water, and washed his face. Martin who was standing not too far from him transformed back into his human form, but in the midst of his transformation, the core of his Creature Power Suit emitted sparks, followed by a faint sound of a crack.

While catching his breath, Chris looked at the Creature Pod attached to his arm, and exchanged banters with the other members of Tortuga HQ. He turned around, smiling. "Hey, check this out, Mar—"

Martin hurled his fist at Chris' head, knocking him towards the rock formations, tearing his Creature Power Suit, and piercing his right shoulder.

Dazed from the impact, and the forced deactivation, his vision blurred. Martin approached him, he raised his arm and sunk his fingernails into the laceration on his right shoulder. He screamed and kicked his older brother off him. He managed to stand up, but Martin was quick to compose himself and lunged.

"What's wrong with you?!" he shouted, but there was no response from his brother as if someone or something had taken control of him. His heart pounded like a jackhammer. He sustained more injuries after consecutive attempts at fending his brother off with all of his might. Incapable of enduring the relentless attacks any longer, he gritted his teeth and gripped his brother's neck to put an end to the chaos.
