~Lucifer~

I cant sleep. This isnt unusual though insomnia is a bother at night espcially when you're very  tired.I sit up in my bed and decide im going to go,im not sure where but i have to go. I get up and walk to my closet and throw on a hoodie and joggers.

I walk out of my room and slowly close the door so as not to wake him up. But it was no use as soon as i turn around i let out a yell and Zeus is looking back at me. How is he so fast and quite? Zeus is my dog. Hes an american shepherd and he's a ninja.

I let out a long sigh knowing I'm going to have to bring him along. He walks up to me and sits in front of me and blinks at me. Not a thought behind those eyes hm buddy . i think rubbing his head. I go back to my room and grab his leash hanging from behind the door and put it on him. I walk to the kitchen and grab my keys and wallet from the counter and head out the door. I walk to my car and open the passenger for Zeus to get in. Once he's in and i put his seatbelt on, Yes his seatbelt,  and drive off.

i soon found myself at pops and decided ice cream doesn't sound so bad. Pops is a cafe owned by Pop hence the name. There are also famous for selling ice cream.It's been around since I was a young boy and pops has always been there when i needed him. i Remember when i first came here with my mother.

*Flashback*

As we all walked outside my mom led us to her car and I saw nik and dad get in his car. Dad had a blue truck with a red heart on the back corner of it. Mom's car was a baby blue color and it reminded me of the sky. As we get in the car I sit in the passenger seat and mom asks me what I want to do and I say get ice cream. She gives me a small... Smile? She smiled at me. But it wasn't the same as the smile she gives nik, that smile is always eye reaching and teeth showing. She turns on the car and we head to town. We arrive at this place called Pops and me and mom get out of the car and its an ice cream shop so I race to the entrance and open the door and i see who i think is pops, the owner, and i say hi.

"Hey kiddo what'll it be today? We have lots of new flavors" Pop said, smiling at me and pointing to the menu on the wall with all the new flavors. As i walk to the menu my mom closely behind me i look at all the flavors and decide with a chocolate cone with extra sprinkles.i walk back to the counter and ask for what i want. Pops gives me the biggest ice cream cone i have ever seen.

*Present time*

Smiling at the memory I finish parking and get out the car getting Zeus. We walk in the shop and i look around seeing a few people which is expected, i mean it's not that late its only 10:30 and pops is usually the hangout spot for people who can't sleep or are lonely. i walk to the front and sit on a stool and Zeus sits next to me on the floor. As i wait for pops i look at the menu.

"hi what can i get for you" a woman says. when i look up im met with these beautiful brown eyes and a smile filled with pearly whites. She's pretty. I stare at her for i assume is too long because she repeats the question.

"Wheres pops" i ask looking back at the menu .

"who?"

"the owner" i say staring at her with a brow raised very unamused.

"ohhhhhhh you mean my father. he's...sick so he's in the hospital for the time being"

her father? I didn't know pops had a kid. A really pretty kid. Shut up.

"ill take a chocolate cone with extr-"

"sprinkles?"

how did she know that?

"You must be lucifer. You're probably wondering how i knew that, pops mentioned you a couple of times"

i give her a nod and walk to a booth and Zeus follows me. A few minutes go by and I wonder what's taking so long to prepare a chocolate cone when The girl from before walks up to me and hands me the cone.

"My name's maggie by the way" she says as she stares at me. Zeus then Abruptly starts being very friendly with her and she starts petting him. i watch the interaction and she smiles. Then i smile. Smile? Why am i smiling?

"Please stop touching my dog" i say looking at her with a serious face.

"oh- im Sor"

"is there anyhting else? "

"no" and she walks back to the counter and continues taking order and cleaning. I continue eating my icecream. once i finished i walk to maggie and hand her the 5 dollars for the cone when im about towalk aay when i then have this strong feeling of guilt for being so rude earlier. She was only being friendly.

"Ahem maggie"

"yea" she says looking at me

"I'm sorry for being so rude earlier. i dont like human interaction that much"

"its alright i shouldve aksed to touch your dog anyway"

I smile, "his name is Zues" i say gesturing for her to pet him

She comes fro around the counter andends down to be eye level with Zeus "Nice to meet you Zues and" She stands up straight facing me now. "lucifer" she says and smiles. Walking back to the counter. i give her a small smile. Nice to meet you to Maggie. I walk out of the small shop and headed to my car. The drive home was fast. When i got home i took a hot  shower but i couldnt get one thing out of my head.

Heyy guys hope this chapter was good. there was a lot of dialogue but yea. The chapters will get better Let me know if you guys want a Maggie POV for this interaction.
