Chapter 6

Directly adjacent to the building Seiros Squad is currently in...

"Oho? I didn't know she had brought friends. It'll be nice to increase my body count."

A voice echoes in his mind.

"Hexl, knock it off. You've done enough damage already. I doubt you can take all four of them on anyways."

Hexl: Oh please, they're just children.

"Very powerful children. I'd rather not take the time to repair you."

Hexl: Fine... But if the plan messes up, it's on you.

"On the contrary, everything's falling into place."

Ferd: Hey guys! I think you might want to see this!

Lyn and I turn to the direction of Ferd's voice in one of the halls of the building. I was about to stand up, but Lyn stops me.

Lyn: Wait Ciel, I'll cast a protective barrier on Stella.

Ciel: Oh right, we can't exactly leave her like this.

Lyn gets to work constructing a small barrier around our unconscious leader. Within seconds, it is completed.

Lyn: Now this should cloak her presence from anything. C'mon, we gotta catch up with Ferd.

I nod and follow Lyn to Ferd's location.

After a bit of running, we found him standing before a doorway. It looks like he was in shock.

Ciel: Ferd? Are you alright?-

Ferd: How the hell are we supposed to cut through this thing?

He points to the place through the doorway, as I looked through, I too was shocked.

It leads to the center space where all the buildings collided and pulled by the tentacles outside. Directly in the center, is a mass of black goo, and some kind of rhythmic beating.

Lyn also stares at the abomination we are currently witnessing.

Lyn: How do we even reach that?

She's right, from our current position, there is a large gap between us and the "heart". The bottom of which, is filled to the brim with debris, black goo and of course Anomalies.

Thankfully, they haven't noticed us yet.

Ciel: Do we have anything that can get us up there?

Lyn: Not that I know of, I only trained in restoration spells and some minor lightning magic.

We both now turn to Ferd.

Ferd: Well don't look at me, my flames shield us, not make stairs. Wait, what about you Ciel? Can Mizu, I don't know, let you float or something?

Mizu pops out of me, simply to shake it's head in disagreement and pops back in.

Ciel: Well there you go.

Ferd: Great, now how are we supposed to-

Suddenly, a wave of Ice travels through the floor beneath us and out through the doorway leading to the drop below, creating a nice stack of steps for us.

Ferd: That's, helpful. Wait a second-

Lyn: Stella! What are you doing?-

I turn around to see Estella walking slowly towards us, clutching the part where her wound should have been. I guess healing can't heal some of the pain.
