Online Friend

Kyungsoo was a loner in school.

He would wake up early on the morning to take the early bus so he would have a place to sit, and most of the time it was just him and the bus driver on the bus. He would put in his headphones and look out the window the whole time.

When he'd arrive at school, he would be the first one in the class and would fold his arms and go to sleep.

When everyone else would arrive, he had to endure his loud and obnoxious peers until the teacher would walk in and shush them so she could start teaching.

Kyungsoo wasn't too big on school. He had straight A's only because he would do the work given to him, but nothing more. He wouldnt go home and review over the material or anything. To him, school was just a repetitive cycle that only tests how much you can remember and he had a pretty good memory so school was easy for him.

After school he would walk home with his music still on and just relax.

Its not that he hated people, it was that he was scared of making a fool of himself. The only thing about himself that he was confident in was his singing. But he cant go around singing whenever he needs to talk to someone.

One weekend, while Kyungsoo was on his phone, an ad for a new app popped up. He would always download the apps and rate them when he was done since he has nothing else better to do. Its not like he had friends.

He downloaded the app, made an account, and exlored it. It was an app where you could talk to strangers and you would be randomly connected with someone who has similar interests. You could choose to disconnect from the person or add them to your friends list. His entered interests: singing, browsing the internet, and listening to music. Immediately he was connected with someone who happens to like listening to music as well.

They talked for a while but the stranger started saying weird things such as, 'wanna meet at my house ;)' and 'send me pics of you'. Kyungsoo started to feel uncomfortable and disconnected from the person when they threatened to find him and do.bad things to him.

It pretty much went on like this for a while. He was about to stop, delete the app, and leave a very bad rating for inappropriate users when he decided to talk to just one more person.

This person was different. They didnt try to get nude photos of him or talk vulgar with him. They just wanted to talk about their interests, music and singing. Kyungsoo had fun talking to this person. So much fun that it was 6am before he knew it. He didn't want to go but his body was begging to rest. He told the stranger that he had to go and a few seconds after he sent the message, he received a friend request from that person and a message saying 'We could talk more later if you want. I'll know your answer if you accept my friend request.

Kyungsoo immediately accepted the friend request and received another message from that same person saying 'Thank you for accepting my friend request:). Goodnight. Talk to ya soon D.O!'.

Kyungsoo replied with 'wait. How did you know my nickname?'

The person messaged back and said that after you become friends on the app you gey to see the other's username, and Kyungsoo's usernamr happened to be his nickname. He then noticed his new 'friend's' username. Bacon. And replied back with a goodnight and went to bed.

While laying down for about 30 minutes he noticed that he couldnt stop smiling. He was happy he actually has a friend! He kept thinking about the conversation he had with this Bacon until he fell asleep about an hour later.

Sunday morning he woke up way later than he usually does. He woke up at 2 in the afternoon. Staying up until 6am messaging a stranger all night could do that to a person. Speaking of messaging a stranger, Kyungsoo saw his phone blinking to tell him that he had a notification. It was from the app he stayed up all night on last night. He quickly unlocked his phone to see that he's gotten a message from none other than Bacon saying 'Goodmorning~ Hope you had a nice rest! Sorry for keeping you up all night XP'.
