On The Clock (Book 2)

Chapter 6: Good Game

I was not all too sure as to just why it was that Xavier seemed to not be in the best of moods in the car ride home. As I kind of wish that it was, if I was not going to lie to my self either. That I had simply just decided that I was going to go back home in my mother's car, as she had been at the game with us.
I had expected that Xavier was going to be happy, and give me praise as to the fact that it was that we had just got our first win of the season. But in stead, it seemed like it was just going to be the opposite of that. As it seemed like was upset at for me some odd reason or another, at that.
I had not done any thing what so ever how ever, as that just did not make sense to me. I had not done any thing stupid at all, and I had not said any thing to offend him. So it just did not make sense as to the fact as to just why it was that he did not want to speak to me right now.
I kind of just seemed to stand there and stare at the dark road that was in fact in front of us. As it was of course the mid of the winter for one thing. It was only 8 o'clock right now. But the roads was frozen cold, and so was everything else as well, at that.
I just seemed to stare out my window, as I looked at the familiar sights that were all around me on the way back home, at that. As I just seemed to stand there, and I just seemed to stare at what was in fact in front of me for just a slight bit more time, at that. As in the end, I just then did in fact begin to start to replay what happened at the end of my game in to my head.

There I was, as I was on the free throw line. As just as it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to notice that the crowd was roaring right now. I just seemed to close my eyes, as I had in fact already missed the first free throw. Which kind of proved that I was not a clutch player. At least, not yet.
I needed to make this 2nd free throw, as I seemed to silence the home crowd, that almost felt like it was an away game right now, at that. As I just got my mind, and I got my focus on the fact that I knew as to just how important this moment was for me.
There was 56 seconds left on the clock, and I needed to make this free throw, so that if at the very worst. They did in fact manage to sink a 3 point shot, than it meant that we would go to over time... Well, of course, not before getting our own chance to go down and score our selves, all at the exact same time too, at that.
Which, I felt like with the way that my team mates did in fact seem to be freaking out right now. I was not all too sure if that were going to be possible, either which way. Which for sure meant that I needed to sink this free throw, as well. And then I needed to get back and play the best defense that I had ever played in my life, all at he exact same time too.
As it was that I just seemed to stand there, and I just seemed to stare for just a few seconds more time. I just then did in fact begin to start to open my eyes all of the sudden, at that. And I then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, once again. And I got ready to lift the ball up, and I did in fact begin to start to get ready to shoot.
As it was that I had in fact began to start to get ready to shoot, all at the exact same time too. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, at that. And I began to start to hear some kid in the crowd, as they just then did in fact seem to start to scream some thing very loud, all at once, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just began to start to notice, and I began to start to hear the kid screaming. I felt like I was not left with much of any other choice, none the less. But to listen as to just what it was that the kid did in fact even feel like he even needed to scream right now, at that.
"Come on little cracker, don't miss this shot!" He said, as I was not all too sure if he was trying to get me to freak out, due to the fact that he was a fan of the other school. Or if it was the fact that he was simply just trying to let me know as to just how important this shot was, and how much I needed to make it.
The kid was probably a fan of the other school, if it was that I was not going to lie to my self either. As I was pretty certain that my school did not have any fans at this game what so ever, all at the exact same time too. I kind of just seemed to let out a little bit of a soft sigh to my self once again, as I just kind of ignored the thoughts of just what it was that the kid had in fact feels like he had needed to yell, all at the exact same time too, at that.
As I knew that this was all just a part of the game of basketball. And if I could not handle the stress, and I could not handle the pressure. And I could not handle the fact of people saying rude things to me. Than I probably should not be playing basketball in the very first place any ways.
Nah... Screw all of that. I loved basketball, as I knew that this was not only my dreams, but it was also my passion. A little bit of a dying passion as well, if it was that I was not going to lie to my self either. As I was not all too sure as to just what else it was that I really wanted to do with my life if it was not basketball.
I kind of just seemed to stand there, and I kind of just seemed to stare for just a few more seconds, all at once. As I knew that I did not want to get called for a violation what so ever, all at the exact same time too. As I just then did in fact begin to start to go right in to my free throw motion, as I got ready to shoot the ball.
As it was that I had in fact just began to start to do as such a thing like that, all at once, once again. That was when I just then in the end, all at the exact same time too. I then did in fact seem to start to put the ball out of my hand, all at the exact same time as well.
As I just seemed to watch the ball sail in what almost seemed to be a little bit of some slow motion. As I just watched it go through the air, all at the exact same time too, all at once. And I just then did in fact begin to start to breathe in quite a bit of a rough sigh to my self, as it looked like it was not going in.
Which meant that I was going to be clowned as to the fact that I had in fact choked on some easy free throws to put away this game, all at the exact same time too, at that. Which I knew that I did not want that to be the case. As I knew that the kids were in fact a lot harsher at this school than most of them were.
I kind of just watched the ball go right up towards the rim, all at once, as it had the perfect distance for sure, all at the exact same time too. But I was not all too sure if it was that it did in fact seem to be accurate enough. Which was what it was that I was always most scared of, all at the exact same time too, all at once, at that.
As I watched it hit on the left side of the rim, all at once. As I was fairly certain that it was going to hop out, all at the exact same time too. But I was a little bit shocked, and I was in fact a little bit surprised to see as to the fact that it did not seem to be the case what so ever, at that. As I saw that it just seemed to get a little bit of a lucky bounce, all at the exact same time too.
As it then went to the right side a little bit, all at once. As it kind of grazed a little bit off of the back board, all at the exact same time as well. And it just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, all at once. And it then did in fact begin to start to roll in to the basket, much to my shock, and much to my dismay, at that.
As it was that it had in fact seemed to just go in, I still had my hands up, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I was in fact kind of seeming to act like the ball was still in my hand. And that it was that I was still getting ready to shoot it, all at the exact same time too, all at once.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to stand there, and I had in fact just seemed to stare for just a little bit more time, all at once, at that. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, and I then did in fact once again hear some one from the side lines, as they then did in fact seem to start to yell my name all of the sudden, at that.
"Come on Trevor! We still have to ball remember! We need get ready!" I heard Brandon yell from the side lines, all at the exact same time too. As I was a little bit surprised that it was him yelling to me, rather than it be Xavier, all at the exact same time too, at that.
As I was still in a little bit of some shock right now, all at the exact same time too, all at once. As I just then did in fact get my eyes, and I just then did in fact get my focus on to just what it was that was in fact even going on right now, all at once, at that. As I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, all at once, at that.
And I just then did in fact look on over to Oliver, who did in fact have the ball in his hands right now, as it was clear that he was in fact getting ready to in bound it to me. There was a guy right on me how ever, which was in fact kind of blocking the path that he needed to toss the ball in to me.
As I kind of just seemed to stand there, and I seemed to stare for just about another second or so, all at once, at that. That was when in the end, I just then did in fact seem to start to wake my self up as to just what it was that was in fact even going on right at this very moment in time too. As I just then did in fact begin to start to move to get an open spot for Oliver to be able to pass the ball on over to me, all at once, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just got in to my spot, all at once. That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to turn my head back to Oliver, all at once, at that. And I just then did in fact get ready to yell to him to pass it to me, all at once, at that. Before it was that we did in fact seem to start to get another violation, all at once.
As just as it was that I had in fact began to start to turn my head on over towards him how ever. I just then began to start to notice all at once, in stead, at that. That it was in fact clear to me right now, that the ball was already flying right on over towards where it was that I even needed to be at, all at the exact same time too.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to realize that it was in fact the case all at once. That was when I just then did in fact seem to stop my self, and I managed to snatch the ball, just before it went right past me, at that. As I kind of slipped a bit at first, all at the exact same time too.
Which I knew could spell a disaster for us, all at the exact same time too, all at once, at that. But I managed to regain my self at the last second, as I managed to dribble the ball in a spot that the other team could not be able to catch it what so ever. As I kind of just then did in fact seem to let out a little bit of a soft sigh of some relief to my self, all at once, at that.
As just then, in the end, I then did in fact begin to start to get my eyes on my team mates that just so happened to be doing what it was that they had in fact been doing in the first half, which was not good for us what so ever, none the less. As I felt like I wanted to yell some thing about it, all at the exact same time too, all at once. When I just then did in fact seem to start to notice that some one was yelling to me right now, all at once, at that.
As I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, and I then did in fact turn my head on over to just who it was that was doing as such a thing like that, all at once. As I noticed that it just so happened to be Xavier, all at the exact same time as well, who was in fact doing as such a thing like that. As I kind of just seemed to breath in a little bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at once, as it was that I did in fact seem to think on that for just a little bit more time, once again.
As I just seemed to stand there, and I just seemed to stare for perhaps another few seconds, at that. That was when I just then in the end, did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, all at the exact same time too. And I then did in fact begin to start to listen as to just what ever it was that Xavier did in fact feel like he even needed to yell to me, all at the exact same time too, never the less, at that.
"Hold the ball til there 40 seconds! We need to be the ones to get the last shot!" He yelled to me, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I realized that he was in fact right with just what it was that he had in fact even felt like he had in fact said, at that. As it was a smart move, as it meant that we should try to hurry up and score right now, never the less.
But we should also be able to get this last shot, just in case we didn't score right here, and they also went up and sunk a 3 pointer, all at the exact same time too, at that. As I just then did in fact begin to start to realize that it was in fact the truth, all at the exact same time too.
That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to turn my head away from Xavier all at once. And I just then in stead, did in fact seem to turn my head on over towards my team mates that were on the court right now. As I saw that we had about 10 more seconds before we needed to make a play, all at the exact same time too.
The only problem was, there was no play to be able to call right now, what so ever, none the less. As I noticed that every one was simply just seeming to sit there and stand still right now. I kind of just seemed like let out a little bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at once. As I knew that I was going to have to take matters in to my own hands right now, and show what a real leader was.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to stand there, and I had in fact just seemed to stare for just a few more seconds of time. I then looked back up at the clock, as I dribbled the ball, and I saw that it was at 40 seconds now, and that I needed to get some thing done right now.
I knew that we needed to make sure that we did in fact get one last play off, all at the exact same time too. That way we could get the ball with one last shot, just in the case that they did in fact get a 3 point shot off. As I just then did in fact begin to start to move forward, all at once, as I noticed that the man that was guarding me did the same thing, all at once.
I knew that there was no way that I could get around him, and have a free lane to the basket either, in less than 10 seconds, so I just then decided to not do what it was that I was thinking, all at the exact same time too. As I just then in stead did in fact seem to notice that all at the exact same time too. That Cody was in fact open in the corner some what. And he might perhaps be able to get a decent look at a shot right now.
I quickly passed it to him, all at the exact same time too, as it was a little bit of a bullet pass, almost as if I was playing football right now. As he just seemed to notice it at the last second, all at once, as he then caught the ball, all at once.
How ever, it did not seem like he was all too sure as to just what it was that he should do at first. As he just had his eyes wide as it was that he seemed to stare at me, all at once. As it was that I had in fact just seemed to stare at him for a few seconds longer, I just then did in fact seem to yell at him, all at once, as well.
"Shoot it Cody!" I said to him, as he just still seemed to be not all too sure as to just what it was that he was doing right now, at that. As I kind of just then did in fact seem to finally start to see him get his eyes right on to the basket, all at once, as well.
But at that point, it was sadly far too late for him to get an open shot, what so ever. And he was well aware of it luckily enough for us, all at the exact same time too. As I saw that much to my surprise, he just then did in fact turn his head back on over towards me, all at once.
And he tossed the ball over towards me, all at the exact same time too. Which was a terrible pass as well, never the less. As luckily enough for our side, the defender did not seem to see it coming what so ever, all at the exact same time too. As I just seemed to snag the ball just in time, before it was that the defender was in fact able to do as such a thing like that.
I let out a little bit of a soft sigh to my self of some sort of relief, all at the exact same time too. Until that was of course, that the thoughts of what it was that Xavier had told me did in fact seem to come in to my head, all at the exact same time too. As to the fact that we needed to make sure if things were to go wrong. That we needed to be the ones who needed to get the last shot off, at that.
As it was that those thoughts did in fact seem to come to my head, I began to start to lift my self up, all at the exact same time too, at that. And I just then did in fact begin to start to go right on ahead, as well. And I then did in fact seem to start to all of the sudden turn my head on over to the basket as I was half way up in the air, when I just then did in fact released the ball from my hand, all at once.
How ever, what it was that I had in fact just seemed to fail to notice was that of course. The fact that it was that there was only 32 seconds left on the game clock, all at the exact same time too, at that. Which meant that even if the shot was gotten off, all at the exact same time as well.
It meant that we would not have time to get another chance to score if it was that they did in fact make that game tying 3. I kind of just seemed to gulp, all at the exact same time too, all at once, at that. As I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, and I watched the basketball hit on the left side of the back board, all at the exact same time too.
As just as it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to notice that, that was when I just then did in fact seem to start to notice that all at the exact same time too. With 30 seconds left on the game clock, the other team did in fact seem to grab the board, all at the exact same time too.
Which this time, much unlike when it was that I had hit my free throw earlier, at that. I did in fact know as to just what it was that I needed to do next, with out any sort of hesitation what so ever, all of the sudden. As I kind of turned my head around, all at the exact same time too.
Doing my best to ignore the disgusted look that I was sure was in the face of Xavier right now. As I just then did in fact begin to start to sprint back to the other side of the court. As I got ready to play Defense, as I noticed that luckily enough for me. My team mates did in fact seem to just start to realize that they too did in fact need to do the exact same thing.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to stand there, and I had in fact just seemed to turn my head around, that was when I saw that my team was in fact back on defense to stop any sort of fast break. And the other team had just barely gotten the ball to half court, all at the exact same time as well, never the less, at that.
As it was that I had in fact seemed to stare at the other team, as I could see fear on all of their faces. That was when I just then did in fact hear the voice of Xavier begin to yell. As this time it was in fact a little bit closer than it was that it had in fact even been at before now, at that.
I kind of let out a little bit of a soft sigh to my self, all at once. As I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, all at the exact same time too, at that. And I then did in fact begin to start to listen as to just what ever it was that Xavier did in fact feel like he needed to say to us, all at the exact same time as well, at that.
"No 3s! Everyone besides Oliver, you need to guard the perimeter!" He yelled to us all, as I then did in fact begin to start to look over towards my team mates, all at once. To see if it was that they had in fact noticed as to just what it was that Xavier had in fact yelled to them, at that.
Which they of course did in fact already seem to be in that situation. As I knew that it was that we had in fact practiced this okay a few times, luckily enough for us. Long before all of this, all at the exact same time too, at that, never the less, once again.
I kind of just let out a little bit of a soft sigh of some sort of relief to my self, all at once, at that. As in the end, I just then did in fact seem to start to go right on ahead, and I got my self right on to my man. Who of course was the one that did in fact have the ball in his hands right now, at that.
As I just then did in fact seem to get a little bit closer to him. That way I made sure that he was not able to get any sort of open 3s off what so ever, all at the exact same time too. As I kind of just seemed to stand there, and I did in fact seem to start to notice that out of the corner of my eyes, all at once.
That it was that there was in fact a lot of kids moving around in the court right now, all at the exact same time too. As it was clear that the other team was in fact panicking, as it was clear that they were in fact trying to get that open 3 off, all at the exact same time too, all at once, at that. In any sort of way possible of course.
Which, luckily once again for us. We had in fact practiced for all of this, all at the exact same time too, as there was clearly no one that was open. Just based off of the kid that was in fact right in front of me. As I could tell by the look that it was that he did in fact have on his face right now.
I was tempted to swat the ball from his hand. But I also knew as to the fact that I did not want to get a foul called what so ever, never the less. So I decided not to do as such a thing like that, all at once, once again. As I just simply did in fact seem to stand there, and I did in fact seem to stare for just a little bit more time, all at once.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to do as such a thing like that, all at the exact same time too. That was when I just then did in fact hear the buzzer beeping, all at once, letting us know that there was less than 5 seconds left to go in the game right now, all at the exact same time too.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to notice as such a thing like that, all at the exact same time too. That was when I just then did in fact feel like the kid did in fact noticed it. As it was clear that the kid was trying to think of some thing to do, and he was trying to think on it quick.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to stand there, and I had in fact just seemed to stare at the kid for just a little  bit more time. That was when he then did in fact begin to start to stand up much to my surprise. And he just then did in fact begin to start to step up and shoot the basketball, all at the exact same time too.
Of course, with my unexpected twist, and the late reaction time, I was not fast enough to block the ball. But with how close to the kid that it was that I had in fact guarding him. I was in fact able to reach my hands up at the last second, at that. And I was in fact able to go on ahead and some what manage to contest the kids shot.
As just as it was that he had in fact let it go out of his hand, all at once. That was when I just then did in fact hear the buzzer beep, all at once, for the last time. As this time it was in fact a lot louder than it was that it had just been before now.
As I kind of just watched the ball sail through the air, all at once. As at first, it looked like it was going straight towards the basket. As it seemed like had the perfect line, all at the exact same time too.
How ever, at the last second, I began to realize that it was not the case, as I saw it hit off of the front of the rim, all at the exact same time as well. And the ball did in fact seem to start to fly back on over towards me, all at the exact same time too. As I realized that the game was now over. And by some sort of miracle, we had in fact came back in the game, and we had in fact won it, all at the exact same time too.
I was in such shock for just a few seconds of some time. That it took me a while to notice as to just what it was that was even going on right at this very moment in time too. And as to just what it was that it did in fact mean for us as a team. And not just that, but as to just what it meant for us as a school, all at the exact same time too.
I kind of just seemed to let out a little bit of a gulp to my self, all at the exact same time too. As I knew that it was that we had in fact won the game of course, all at the exact same time as well, at that. As I was just about to crack a little bit of a smile on my face all at the exact same time too.
That was when I just then did in fact seem to start to feel some thing behind me, all at once. As it seemed like some one was in fact tapping on my shoulders for some odd reason or another, at that. Which I just then did in fact begin to start to turn my head around, all at once. As I was a little bit lost as to just what it was that was even going on right now.
That was until I then began to start to notice that it was the kid I had been guarding just about the whole game. As it was that he was in fact beginning to start to speak to me, all at once, as I saw his eyes were wide. I was a little bit lost at first. But in the end, I just then did in fact nod towards the kid. As it was clear that I was letting him know that I was in fact paying my full attention on to just what ever it was that the kid felt like he even had to say to me, all at once, at that.
As it was that I had in fact just seemed to start to do as such a thing like that all of the sudden. That was when the kid just then did in fact seem to start to continue to speak to me in a little bit of a calm voice. As I just then did in fact begin to start to listen as to just what it was that the kid did in fact even feel like he even needed to say to me in the very first place any ways, never the less, at that.
"Wow... I didn't expect this from you man! Good game!"
