BUS STOPS.

Emilia was standing under the roof of a bus stop. She could hear the repetitive sound of rain hitting the glass above her. She looked up at the sound to only see the dark black of the cloudy night sky. There were no stars visible, but there was a single lamp light on next to her. There was a yellow glow emitted from the lamp, illuminating the small station she stood in. She hoped that if Kol realized she was gone then he would just utilize his vampire speed to arrive at Mystic Falls. He hoped that he would arrive by himself and prove unable to find her because she would not be there. Then, she could quietly slip into town on the bus.

As Emilia stood inside the station lost in her thoughts, she eventually saw the presence of headlights highlighting the road. The bus came in slowly, but would pause in front of the teenage girl. She awaited the bus's arrival and was not excited, but ready for it to come. She waited in the rain for the door to creak open. When the door opened, she unfolded her arms from around her chest and stepped into the dry environment of the bus. Luckily, it was late enough at night that the driver didn't bother to ask for a ticket.

She began to climb the steps into a bus seat. Holding onto the railing, she approached the bus driver. Emilia knew she did not have the ticket, but was hoping to convince the old lady to just give her a ride. She walked towards the woman preparing an act, but the woman just let her through. She swore she saw the lady wink at her as she went by her to walk past several rows of seats to the middle of the bus. Emilia found a seat in the lonely bus. As she was falling asleep, Emilia believed she saw the letters above the bus change from Roanoke to Mystic Falls.

At the hotel room, Kol had woken up as soon as the door closed. Kol knew exactly where she would go, Mystic Falls. He figured that she was going to the town to undagger his sister. He sighed, believing that it was stupid that Nik was still using those daggers, and used his vampire speed to get to his home in the town. He opened the door to his brother who was painting on his easel. Klaus looked at the man who entered, "Brother you are back! What about the quest for the cure?"

"To hell with the cure."

"Broken heart doesn't look good on you brother."

"Shut up Nik. She's back and we were together, but then she ran off, presumably here. Any clue why she would want to come back to this wretched town."

Klaus laughed a bit. "Oh, yeah. Bekah had a bit of a run-in with a dagger. Not to worry that will come right out."

"Great, where is she?"

"See. Small problem. I don't have her."

"Where is she?"

"I gave her to Stefan to store."

"Stefan, the one who took all the coffins from you as leverage? Cause his track record with our family's coffins is so good."

"Relax Kol. I'll pop over there tomorrow morning have a nice little chat with him while you keep Em far far away from this."

"And how should I find her? She could be anywhere in town."

"Mystic Falls isn't very big. How long did it take you to get here?"

"Forty seconds."

"Then she'll be here within the next hour. Two hours with traffic. I know where she is."

"Where?"

Klaus grabs his keys. "Bus stop at the edge of town. Best form of transport for a girl with no money, compulsion, or car."

They both grab coats, walk out to the driveway, and hop in Klaus's car. They did not want to use their vampire speed to get there because they did not know exactly when Emilia would be coming and they would rather not wait. Eventually, after sitting in traffic for an hour, they made it to the bus stop. They only waited five minutes in the parking lot until a bus pulled up to the station.

They expected her to come hesitantly out, so they waited on the side of the bus where she couldn't see them instantaneously. However, she didn't come outside right away. Kol and Klaus worried that it was not her bus, but then saw her sleeping through the window. They breathed a sigh of relief and Kol went up to save Emilia from being yelled at the bus driver. He walked up to the door and was met with the bus driver blocking his path. "Who are you?"

"The boyfriend. I came to meet her here, but it looks like she's fallen asleep. Classic. Anyway, can I go through, we wouldn't want to wake her up."

"Hell nah. You think I'm crazy. You hear yourself? I know how you creeps work, I've seen it all. Get out of here." The bus driver pushes Kol back and smirks.

"And why should I leave you alone with her?" Klaus is watching from the side, surprised Kol didn't instantly kill the bus driver. Kol kept the bus driver alive so Emilia didn't wake up to screaming or him covered in blood. Kol walks back up to the bus driver when he puts a hand on Kol and starts siphoning.

Kol starts screaming and Klaus steps out from the side. "That's enough siphoner." Klaus goes toward the bus driver only to feel a horrible aneurysm run through his brain. He starts to scream alongside Kol.

Emilia wakes up from all the screaming and runs to the front of the bus. "What the hell is going on here?" The originals both recover from the pain inflicted on them, glaring at the bus driver. "How?"

Klaus speaks up. "There's only one bus stop in this town." Emilia nods in understanding and Klaus continues. "Why don't you head with Kol to the car?"

Emilia tries to get through but the bus driver blocks her path. "Excuse me. I'm good. Let me through." The bus driver still will not let her through and it was hard for Emilia to get past him because of the bus driver's large frame. He accidentally siphons off Emilia as he blocks her from passing. He smiles and continues as Emilia is in pain. She screams for him to stop.

"Wow. This is unlike any power I've felt before." He continues, but all of a sudden the bus driver's face contorts into one of pain. "Ah!" The bus driver's hand that he used to siphon with starts to catch on fire. He tries to extinguish the flame on his hand but it only spreads onto the bus. There is no way to  stop the fire and Kol snaps the bus driver's neck to get Emilia out of the bus. She grabs Kol's hand and once she exits the bus, the flames stop.

a/n.

hey y'all so I've kinda lost motivation for this book. sry to say this but there will be an epilogue explaining everything after. I've absolutely loved working on this book for over two years, but my motivation for this particular book has left. this is the ending I had originally planned, but I honestly just can't put in the effort to flesh it all out (it would probably take a lot more chapters or perhaps a sequel)  :(
