I and my mom went to the store early so we can eat breakfast at some place. "Ok, Cass, where put the GPS to the nearest store." Putting on the GPS.

Closing the car and locking it, grabbing a cart looking around the also to see what we need. "I'll be in the cake aisle." Going straight there seeing what I can bake.

Maybe I can make some brownies?

Looking around trying to find some fudge brownies, bending down to get the box.  Walking out of the aisle, I saw some chips knowing I need them.

Putting them on the cart and I look at my mom to see that we almost have everything.  "I think we have everything?" peaking at the cart trying to see if we have everything.

Unlocking the trunk lay the bags. "Okay, where now," Putting down the window.

"Home," I smile at that.

"Cassie help me! These bags won't move by themselves." Laughing but I helped her. Once we put everything where they go, I lay on the kitchen floor.

Not knowing what to do since we got up so early. Hearing the door open turning to see my mom outside. Taking a sigh but then I remember that I have to meet him at the dock.

But I'll go later not now. Got off the floor and went to my room and opened the window.

Sitting on my bed going through Instagram. Saw one of my ex-best friends' posts. She was at my house and I slide to see more pictures. I saw my dad kissing her on the cheek and saw the woman.

Reckoning that's the woman he's with.  But what happens if he gets married to her? Will that me her- shaking the thought out of my head.

My ex-best friend will always take everything away from me, but I'm hoping this summer she won't. Because it's my summer, not her's. Checking the time to see it was 11 so I decided to meet him.

Walking to my mom. "Hey, um I'm going out." Nodding her head. Heading out, going into town. Once I saw the library I took a right turn and saw the dock.

Running across the road. Waiting for him so I can give him my answer.  Peeping around trying to find him but there was no sign of him. Then I'm thinking it was just a joke.

I decided to wait a couple of more minutes before I give up.

I left the dock cuz there was no point in me waiting. Walking back to my beach house. Closing the door, going outside where my mom is at.

Laying my head on her shoulder. "What's Wrong?" Laying her hand on my knee. "See, I was supposed to meet this guy on the dock-" She cuts me off.

"The guy you were talking to yesterday that you wouldn't tell me his name." I laugh.

"Yes, that guy."

"But he didn't show up, so I waited a couple more minutes. he was a no-show, so I guess he was joking." I explain. "Maybe he was busy or something." She tells me.

I wanted to tell her about what I saw on Instagram but I decided not to.

I saw her typing but I threw it on the sofa. I'm just hoping that my ex-best friend doesn't come here.  Turning on the TV and watching some RomCom.

It's been hours and my mom still hasn't been here, I started to worry until I see a light from outside. Grabbing my shoes and walked out closing the door behind me.

"Mom?" Walking down the small stairs. I saw a man getting out of the car helping my mom. Running to help him laying my arms over her waist.

"Um... what happened to her?" Never saw my mom like this. He started laughing and I knew that laugh. I think?

"My mom and yours went out and they started drinking." He informs me.

Opening the door, I could hear my mom mumbling something. "Can you wait here?" He nods his head. Settling my arms around her waist taking her to her room.

Laying here down, taking off her shoes. Pulling the cover off she makes her way into her sleeping position. She grabs the covers and goes to sleep. Kissing her on her forehead.

Shutting the door and going to the porch. "Thanks for bringing my mom." Looking at him... he looks like Conrad.. wait.

"Conrad?" I say. He looks at me and we were both surprised. "Cassie, right?" Nodding.  I started to play with my fingers but decided to tell him why wasn't at the dock.

"Hey, I was at the dock waiting for you to come. You never came?" I ask him.

"I was busy with some things." He says, and I believed that my mom was right. "Oh," Is all I say. "But um... thanks for bringing my mom." Opening the door.

"Yeah, no problem." I could see him trying to say something else. "You okay, Conrad?" Staring at him confused.

"I..., I was wondering if I could have your number? So we can text if not that's fine." Walking outdoor pulling out my hand waiting for him to take out his phone.

I see him smiling and he hands me his phone and I type my number and put 'Cassie🍦'

"There, bye, Conrad see you tomorrow." Walking inside the house shut the door, putting my back against the door.

Letting out a breath that I've been holding for a long time that I didn't know. Turning off the lights and headed to my room.

Changing into my Pj's, saw my phone light up. Grabbing it from the nightstand, saw a message from an unknown person. But I knew it was him.

Ok, I'll pick you up at 6 in the
afternoon

Charging my phone and thinking that I'm going out tomorrow I just hope nothing goes wrong tomorrow.
