You tell me to believe in you,
But how can I believe
In an egotistical hypocrite?
You claim to be a church, to "believe" in God-
Then spew slander in His name.
How can I believe in that?
Do you believe we're all condemned?
In condemning others, you merely succeed
In condemning yourself.
What happened to "love thy neighbor,"
Or did you overlook that part and warp the verse
To fit your loathsome attitude?
Your hatred spreads like venom
Through the veins of our society.
"God hates fags."
"Thank God for 9/11."
We live in a free nation, but your abuse of the First Amendment
Leaves me dumbstruck and speechless.
Most people find a light in the darkness.
But you-you find a seed of darkness in a garden of light.
You whisper bittersweet lies
And lie down as the seed takes root, ready to bloom.
So lovely is the unfurling bloom,
You bathe in its toxic fragrance, allow it to devour you.
Some people hate to love,
Because loving means forgiving and accepting,
Both of which can be hard to do.
However, you love to hate.
"Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that,"
As Martin Luther King Jr. once said.
"Everyone who loves is born of God
And experiences a relationship with God.
The person who refuses to love doesn't know
The first thing about God, because God is love.
The command from Christ is blunt: loving God
Includes loving people. You've got to love both."
