Finny woke up to the phone ringing in the kitchen. Luckily, his dad was at work today and Gwen was staying at her friend's house. Fin rolled himself out of bed and shuffled to the phone. After hesitantly picking the phone up and putting it to his ear, he hears his best friend's voice on the other side.

"Hey Fin, wanna go to the fair with me today. I just got my paycheck and figured we could go do something fun," Robin said casually. Fin thought it over for a minute. "You there, Fin?"

"Yeah, um, yeah I'll go."

"Cool, I'll be at your house in a few." Then Robin hung up.

Fin got ready as quick as he could, uncertain of how soon "in a few" would actually be. After putting on his white-ish and blue shirt and his blue jeans, he remembered he had to brush his hair. Then, he waited for about 15 minutes.

Fin heard knocking at the door. He got up and saw Robin waiting on his porch. Fin swung the door open, startling Robin.

They began their walk down the sidewalk chattering about nonsense things. Fin looked over at Robin. Admiring how he walked with such confidence, how his head tilted up when he walked.

"FIN!" Fin jumped a bit and then noticed Robin was staring at him. Fin widened his eyes at Robin to acknowledge he was listening now.

"I didn't need anything, I just noticed that it didn't seem like you were listening," Robin stated.

"Sorry," Fin apologized, "I got lost in thought." Robin half-smiled at Fin and looked away.

"It's fine," Robin explained, "I get lost in thought too sometimes."

After about 10 more minutes they found their way to the fair. As Robin finished paying for the tickets Fin looked up and around at all the attractions. Robin came up behind him and rested his arm on Fin's shoulder

"What do you want to do first?" Robin questioned. Fin continued to silently stare at everything around him. Fin had never been to a fair before and was unsure of what to do. "Why don't we go get something to eat, then we will see what to do from there," Robin suggested.

"Alright," Fin replied. Fin could hear Robin's laughter as he walked in front to lead them to a food stand.

They decided on getting a pepperoni pizza and some fried ice cream.

After eating they were walking back toward the attractions when a young woman ran over to them. She frantically explained that she was a volunteer and needed to leave, but there was no one to take over for her. She started pushing them over to a stand and said that if they were asked why they were here to say they are covering for Nancy. She then bolted out of the fairgrounds.

Robin and Fin looked at each other, then at the stand, they were working.

"Is this a beer stand?" Robin asked. He then turned to Fin, waiting to see his response.

"Um, yeah, I-I think it is. We're not old enough to work this." Finny frantically stated.

"Hey, guess what this means," Robin interjected, "Free beer." Robin turned to look at Fin with a smile. He then pulled out a glass and poured it for himself, he then looked at Fin to ask if he wanted a glass.

"I'll take a little bit just to try it," Fin said.

Throughout the day not many people showed up to get a beer. Robin suggested that it was because it looked like two teenagers were running it, but eventually, the switch time came and they could go and enjoy the fair.

"First things First," Robin stated, "We need to ride as many as we can with our limited time." Fin agreed and they ran from ride to ride. Practically vomiting after each ride.

The second to last ride they did was the spinning tea cups. After got off they had to hold each other up so they wouldn't fall to the ground. They decided to finish up the night by going on the Ferris wheel.

Robin grabbed Fin's hand and pulled him to the Ferris wheel line. They chatted in line for around 15 minutes, both a little tipsy. Finally, it was their turn to go. They got in the cart and sat on opposite sides. As they climbed higher Fin got more and more nauseous. This Ferris wheel went double the height of the other rides and Fin was just now realizing he had a fear of heights. He looked over at Robin to see Robin staring at him.

"Are you okay, you look a little pale," Robin questioned

"I-I," Fin stammered," I think I'm afraid of heights." Robin immediately hoped up and sat right next to Fin.

"Hey man, it's alright. I'm right here." Robin expressed.

Fin looked up at Robin, then at his hand around his other shoulder. When he looked back at Robin, he was still staring, waiting for a response. Fin felt his face heat up as he realised how much they were touching.

It felt like centuries to Fin, but eventually he seen Robin lean in closer and closer. He felt the Ferris wheel start to go down. Then he felt soft lips on his, it was quick and sweet. Then it was over, all too soon. They got off the ride together. They left the fairgrounds and Robin walked him home. They awkwardly made conversation. They stopped outside Fins house.

To Fin's surprise Robin said, " That was an interesting first date." He then laughed at Fin's shock.

"I didn't realize this was a date," Fin replied.

"I'll tell you next time it's a date," Robin said as he started to walk away.
