October 18, 2024...

Alarms were blaring everywhere. A scientist carried a USB with him as he dashed down the hall. A group of guards sprinted by him towards the sound of where gunfire and screaming could be heard. The sounds seemed to pursue him everywhere he went. His heart was beating faster than it had ever before. Sweat dripped down his face. He was hoping he could make it to the last evacuation helicopter before it took off. He hurried down the corridors following the sights that indicated where he had to go. He knew he didn't have much time and quickened his pace. He came to where the hallway split off towards the evacuation site. When he turned the corner he was faced with a heavy blast door which was completely sealed.

The scientist didn't know what to do. He was locked in the facility with one of the experiments running around killing everyone. Then he realized something. The shouting and gunfire had stopped, the guards were all dead. This left the creature with one clear target, the scientist. The scientist looked the other way which led to more labs. This was his only chance. He ran as fast as he could down the hall as he heard a faint shriek from the opposite direction. The creature knew where he was and was most likely on its way.

He finally made it to the labs where he found his own lab, he quickly darted inside and slammed the metal door. A few seconds later, there was a loud bang followed by a growl. The scientist hadn't done anything but delayed the creature from getting inside the room. It didn't take long before it began slamming and clawing against the door. It was clear the door wouldn't hold for long. The scientist predicted it would maybe hold a few minutes. He knew that the organization he worked for would send people to capture the experiment. He couldn't let that happen, he needed to leave a message for the people who came. He picked up a tape recorder and began his final log.
