"He who says he can, and he who says he can't, are both usually right..."
This chapter is focusing on getting your story started, or maybe finished. Believe it or not, fanfiction is just like writing a book. I mean, some of them are long enough to be one anyway am I right?
Getting started and finishing a story are the hardest parts of writing. Lets start at the very beginning.
If you need an idea for one, this is what I suggest doing:
1. Pick your character(s) or story.
2. Ask questions like...What if?
How did they do that?
Why did they do that?
Could they ever get along?
What if they got into a fight?
When they were younger...?
They acted that way because...?That's how books are written, folks. Ideas. Fricking little ideas.
And onto finishing.
Tip 01: BE ORGANIZED! Know exactly where and how you want your story to end. The worst thing is a lingering ending.
Tip 02: Take. Your. Time. If you got sudden writers block, don't feel obligated to finish anyway. Take a walk outside, listen to music, breathe, whatever you do to clear your mind, do that.

If you find yourself stuck on a character, here is what you can do.-search "character inspiration" on Pinterest. There are so many interesting pics of people on there! Use something you liked there as a model for appearance.
-there's this weird website called ourbabynamer. com and it lets you search for names by letter, origin, meaning, etc. I USE THIS SO MUCH. Seriously, where would I ever find names like Sima or Calanthe (if you've read Royalty or Hela On Earth)?
-Google "uncommon_____ last names" inserting the ethnicity you want in the blank space. I wanted British names other than ____shire and Cumberbatch, and this is what I did!
(I have a big list of English last names, so maybe I should post it???? LMK in the comments?)
-Personality: Search a thesaurus or Google for synonyms of common traits like "kind" or "mean". Even though these words are similar in general meaning, the detail could really help to build you character. Compassionate and kind are similar, but also totally different if you dig deep enough into the word
-tear into words. Grasp every last meaning to them and build build build!!!!!!!!
-Be serious about what you're writing. Never say, "oh, it's just a fanfiction!" because these stories are so much more if you let them be! Don't tone down your imagination! They tell tales of love and hatred, people putting others first, they make you cry, and squeal, and make people next to you think "what's making that person so happy?" Treat it like you mean it.
