The border between the east coast of Danemark - Modern-day Denmark - and the east coast of Holstein - Northern region of modern-day Germany - laid a sea, a battle. With the Svithiod's armies - Modern-day Sweeden - as the powerful invading force. Within the hour, it managed to push the defenders inland; troops were routing, and hope was draining.
The last line of defence was a mountain in the Danish region. If it fell, the invading army could and would spread in all directions of the country. A Sargent, drenched in blood, met with King Ysics. He was already talking with a General about an organised retreat.
"My majesty," He bowed down, "The situation its-"
"Bad I know, I'm working out a retreat."
"No sir, doubtful as you stand, the Svithiods have halted. Our armies are no longer two spent swimmers."
The General stepped closer as he glanced at the king, "Talk."
The Sargent breathed and swallowed before carrying on, "A man sees the enemy as nothing but kerns-" An explosion from a cannon goes off, "He doesn't care that the Svithiods are a rebel's whore for he's a bloody executioner."
The King held out his hand, "Okay I'm going to stop you right there, do you need water or anything?"
"Yes, thank you, sir."
The King ordered his servant to bring water as he took out a chair, once the water arrived, the Sargent drank it whilst sitting down.
"Alright, now speak to me like a normal person and not like Shakespeare."
"His name is Anselm, and he's stopping the invading army. I swear I have never seen so many killed, The Plague himself would surrender at his feet."
The King walked out to see the battlefield, yet what came to his eyes was nothing but a man standing amongst ruins of men. Arrows and cannonballs surrounded him as he glanced back up at the king, before being covered in smoke.
The General spoke to the King, "He's as terrifying as a plague sir."
"No, not any old plague from below, that man is from above and divine like the black death."
The Sargent came to him and spoke, "No my majesty, he is The Black Death."
