Morning came for the commander.

He didn't resent the fact that he had to leave this retreat, because his time away from everything was a very sharp reminder of what things could be like for him and King George V if he did his job.

This little place by the sea was made as a retreat for the commander when he needed time off. He could be reached in case of a real emergency, but the commander didn't let that possibility eat him up- if the call came, the call came. But it didn't, except for a little notification from Enterprise that they had engaged and defeated a Siren fleet. He trusted her to tell him if anything had gone wrong.

So, thanks to his ships, he was able to just concentrate on relaxing and enjoying his time away with his bride.

The commander was finally able to accept that what happened at that altar was something real the first time he woke up and found King George V laying beside him, wearing a wedding band that matched his own. He wanted to seize her right there, but it was better to let her sleep- after all, it was her vacation as well as his. Not that it kept her from cooking, of course, she made sure she could do plenty of that- it just wasn't something she considered to be work.

Nothing really strange or dramatic happened over the time they spent together, as the time was spent enjoying the weather, the beach, and each other. In some ways it was like any other beach vacation, except there were some pictures that wouldn't go in the album because they belonged to them alone.

And as for other parts of the honeymoon- perhaps the ones that the other ships might be very curious about to an embarrassing degree- Well, she always seemed to be game whenever he was, and his capacity for making love to the Royal was only curtailed by the fact that he was still a human being who had physical limits combined with the fact that King George V could be a rather overwhelming lover. She also had her own ways of making it clear when she wanted that sort of attention. Not in the way, say, Atago or Taihou might demand such a thing, but she had a dignified way of making her wishes known.

But he wouldn't have it any other way, really. He had fallen in love with how powerful and strong she was, and he probably would be disappointed by a meek and submissive partner.

There wasn't really all that much else to say about it- after all, the whole point of coming here was to be away from the bustle and business of Azur Lane so they could have their mind only on each other, and as far as that was concerned, things went according to plan.

The commander turned in the bed to see that King George V was already awake, but had decided to stay in bed with him this time rather than wander off to make breakfast. It might seem to be a small change, but the fact that she stayed with him rather than wander off to cook spoke volumes about what was going through her own mind. She could eat at any time, but... "Good morning, Alex."

It was a good morning. Even though she didn't look different, she certainly felt more beautiful than before- he began to wonder if this sort of feeling is what the world looked like through Littorio's eyes. He kissed her good morning. "I just woke up, and the first thing you do is decide to tell me something true."

She gave him that smile. "What's also true is that you need to clean up, because we're heading back home today. I'll mind breakfast, of course."

"Of course." the commander reluctantly left the bed and went to clean himself up. The commander had used the opportunity of leaving the port to wear clothes other than his uniform, but now that he was heading back to work, he had to look the part. After cleaning up, he did put his uniform back on, and he took his hat off of the hook where he had left it for all of the days he had been away from the base.
