" VESSI " devyn yelled from the living room. vesper jumped away from eddie, her eyes widening. "fuck, fuck fuck fuck... " vesper swore quietly. she grabbed eddies hand and dragged him into the pantry.

" yess mom?! " vesper yelled back. vessi knew her mom would bombard her with questions if she saw eddie.

" come here.. I gotta talk to you. and bring that boy with you hun "

well shit.

eddie and vesper sat on the couch in front of devyn. devyn was smoking a cigarette, and eddie and vesper sat at least 3 feet away from each other.

" how'd you know I had a boy over? "

" I didn't pass down any genes to my daughters to have humugous feet like this boy. " devyn clapped back.

" where's your sister v? "

" she and byers jumped out of the moving car after she attacked poor eddie with pepper spray in a claires... " vesper responded quickly, sounding completely serious.

" tell me the truth. ", vesper sighed.

" eddie gripped my hand a little to hard, and one of his rings broke skin so amani literally karate chopped his hand and pepper sprayed him. when I was dropping byers off she got out with him and didn't get back in the car. " boom. the truth baby.

devyn asked how eddies day was.
he giggle before responding
" well it was going well until your lunatic daughter viciously attacked me with a can of pepper spray and picked the absolute worst earring to ever exist to go in my ears for the next 6 weeks. "

" sounds bout right " devyn said.

the silence became awkward again. devyn put her cigarette out in the ashtray on the coffee table. she took in a breath and opened her mouth, looking like she had to say something.

" v, y'know I love you and ami, and I'd do anything to see you happy. so... I'm gonna get sober. for real this time. you can lock me up in my room and slide me my food under the door like I'm a prisoner if that's what it takes. " devyn look at her daughter.

vesper had tears in her eyes. she had had this talk twice before with her mother, and yet she was still a coke addict. vesper felt tears fall down her face as she sniffled, looking at her lap.

" exscuse me " vesper said quietly as she got up and ran upstairs.

" well shit, cant really fix that now can i boy? " devyn look at eddie. he just shook his head.

vesper ran up the stairs, took a right, and went up the ladder at the end of the hall. she slowly entered her room, aka, the attic.

the walls were littered with posters, painting s, drawings, and pictures of vesper and amani. her desk was cluttered with job applications and in the corner of the desk, sat a record holder. the little self held around 50 records all together, she had around 34.

her bookshelf was covered in trinkets, animal bones, and figurines. her away of books filled up the bottom 3 shelves.
her dresser had her record player on top, as well as her jewelry box. her record player was covered in stickers.

her queen sized bed sat in the far left corner of the room, with a small bedside table next to it. there was an alarm clock on top as well as a few cups. the bed sheets were a deep green, and she had an array of blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals on her bed.

vesper flying herself on her bed. crying softly, her makeup was smeared, and her eyes hurt already. she knew her mom would try but addiction was a bitch, and would come back to bite her in the ass.

eddie exscused himself from the couch, and made his was up the stairs. aimlessly wandering around until her found vespers ladder.

" vesper... hey babe " eddie spoke calmly.

vesper whimpered quietly, trying to ignore the pretty boy climbing in though a little hole in the middle of her floor.

eddie hoisted himself up into her room. standing up her looked around and smiled. " it suits you vessi " he blurted out. vesper stayed quiet.

eddie walked over to her and rubbed her back. he picked her head up and laid it on his lap, he stroked her hair like she was a cat who feel asleep on him.

they stayed like that for 3 hours, both eventually falling asleep.
