'More school. This is shit.. Like I mean I'm thankful I got into my dream university, but what even is the point? Honestly what could be more depressing than spending the best years of your life in a stinking adult school thingy and for what purpose? Like I mean, I guess college is crucial  if you want to pursue a job like a surgical doctor or a teacher, but for Gods sake, I'm doing a fucking art course!! It's not that hard! Just pick up a pen and draw! I don't want to spend 4 whole fucking years here, that's bullshit!'

I brushed the chestnut coloured hair out of my sleepy eyes with a comb, reaching for the hairspray with my free hand. There's a lot of things I need to do, and not much time.

College starts tomorrow. yayy..... fuck my life.

After finally feeling at least a slight bit satisfied with how I styled my hair, I pulled out a fishnet top, an oversized black t-shirt and a pair of tight-ish jeans out from the wardrobe beside my bed, a thousand thoughts flooding my mind as I loosely pull the clothes over my sweaty figure.

I made my way downstairs, opening the fridge and eyeing the contents before slamming it back shut deciding that I don't feel hungry.

I must admit. No longer having my siblings and parents around annoying me 24/7 is heavenly, but it still gets painfully lonely and quiet without them.

Ah. Well at least until Dani wakes up. A real piece of work that woman is. She's only a year older than me at age 21, and she's a fucking tree. 6'5 feet.

Speaking of the devil, I look up as a hungover sleep deprived Dani stumbles down the stairs, almost tripping a couple times which makes it difficult for me to hold back a couple giggles.

"Heyyyy Maverick..."

"Morning Dani, I'm guessing that the party went well, based on your drunken walking and the fact you're still wearing your dress?" I ask, a sly grin plastered on my face.

"Mmmm...yeah. Me and Ellie fucked before passing out drunk, so that was nice.." she mumbled back, obviously still far from sober.

"eugh...did NOT need to hear that. Good for you though, your little obsession over her was so pathetic it was almost too much to bear" I remark and smile as the love-sick drunkard rolls her eyes.

"Well what about you Y/N? You're 20 and you haven't dated anyone since year 6 or something! I know this girl called Jessie who's been fawning over you since highschool-"

"Dani. I'm gay."

"Ohhhhhh yeah that's riightttt" Dani slurred through her teeth, thinking for a moment before opening her mouth to speak again.

"I do know this one gay dude-"

"I need to go and get my books for tomorrow now, see ya later Dani!" I cut her off as I grab my phone and backpack, walking towards the door.

As soon as I walk out the door I exhale, letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding in

'Well she's certainly something, that's for sure'

I walked towards the train stop, feeling a sudden annoyance that my car was still being fixed. For fucks sake, why does it take soo long just to fix one small thing?

I reached into my backpack and retrieved the old wallet my dad had given me, cringing at the rotting leather pieces. I really need a new wallet, maybe I should buy that while down the street as well.

I stepped forward onto the bus, slipping a few gold coins into the bus divers hands and walking down into the bus a little bit. Once again, no seats. I grabbed on to one of the handles up top, staring out the window into the distance of the bleak city.
