Everyone was at the bench sat down, including me. We were about to plan out what we needed to get to the shelter. The shy was bright as usual, and the sun was facing towards my back and it was sizzling.
"We can't really stay on the road if we need all these weapons!" Alden exclaimed.
"It's the only chance we have of getting there. If we just try to walk across every forest we see, we won't know where we are. We'll never get there. Anyway, we're well trained and know how to use our weapons. We can take out anyone who tries to get in our way." Lizzie argued back. The argument was heated. The argument was about whether we traveled through discrete areas when possible or do Lizzie's plan: go through the town and motorways.
"We've never killed an actual person out here. It's always been just animals when we've been hunting." Bradley argued. I was on Lizzie's side accept from the killing part. I didn't see why we needed weapons on us all the time.
"We're gonna have to if we wanna get to the shelter. That's the goal. We're gonna have to do anything possible to get there."  Lizzie argued again.
"So, what do you plan on doing when the police are raiding the shelter and won't stop terrorising people when they find us?" Alden asked angrily. He seemed very irritated. Lizzie punched the table.
"That's the whole point of taking them out! They can't follow us if they're dead!" Lizzie shouted.
"Lizzie, all they're gonna do is send more policemen over to get us. If we're shooting them with arrows they'll start coming at us with shields. When that happens, we're doomed. Jack has no shot at life!" Bradley shouted across the table. He leant back on his seat.
"I'm trying to get us and George the best life I can. Me and Johnathan have been on the road way longer than you two. Let's see what Johnathan has to say about it!" Lizzie exclaimed. All our eyes turned to Johnathan. There was an awkward silence between us.
"You all have good points. I want what'a best for Jack but I also don't want his life at risk." Johnathan told us. He stroked the stubble on his face and crossed his arms.
"That's my point! Jack will get there and have a good life if we just stick to places no one goes." Alden argued.
"Look, we either do my plan or I will kill both of you right here." Lizzie said. Alden and Lizzie stood up and got in each other's faces ready for a fight. Johnathan got between them.
"No one's killing anyone! We can sort this out!" Johnathan shouted at the pair of them. It was like he was babysitting them. I could see why he was the leader. He was smart and knew how to keep his cool. Everyone then sat down.
"Look, if you want my opinion on this, I say we go with Lizzie's plan. We will definitely get there if we follow the places she took note of." Johnathan explained. I agreed.
"No, we need-" Alden was interrupted by Johnathan.
"We need to get there as soon as possible. It's settled." Johnathan said, getting defensive. He stood up and walked to his cabin. Alden stood up and got in Lizzie's face.
"Thanks a lot, Lizzie. You're gonna get us all killed now." He said as he walked to his cabin. Lizzie sighed and looked at me.
"Maybe you should go see Johnathan. He seemed angry for some reason." She said.
"Shat do I say?" I asked. I didn't know how to calm someone down. Every time I tried to do that with my parents they just got more mad.
"Just ask if he's okay or something. I need to plan out what to take on the trip, anyway." Lizzie replied. I sighed and walked over to Johnathan. I sat on the bed next to him in silence.
"Are you... okay?" I asked."
"I'm trying to protect you. Bradley and Alden don't get it, not like me and Lizzie. As soon as they started camping with us they've been a huge problem." Johnathan ranted. I had no idea what to say. He wasn't angry, he was sad that Alden and Bradley might not have survived the trip because of how nice they were.
"I know." I replied.
"I don't want you to be like that just in case we don't get there." Johnathan said.
"I won't. I'll listen to you. " I replied. He turned to me and smiled. "What did you wanna teach me?" I asked. Johnathan. He turned and got a bow from the side of his bed and placed it on my pap. I flinched a little bit.
"I wanna teach you how to hunt with one if these." He stated. I was in shock. I had never even seen one before. My eyes widened.
"Uh, is it a bow?" I asked. He nodded his head. I picked the bow up and let it rest in my hands. I pulled on the string a little bit, and let go.
"So, you wanna learn now?" He asked. I agreed, and the tall person stood up.
"Come on, then. All the animals will be coming out now." Johnathan stated.
