Chapter 1 Home sweet home

April 31 in the evening, Neo Politan went out on the balcony. She reached out her hands to the sky dark and red. Stretched out as high as she could because of the joy set inside. It's the end of a regular day as beautiful as ever. She want to sing about what is in her heart. However, the rustle in the garden took her mind off. Then she heard the voice of her father. He called her inside. This means the day have not ended and she ought to return in the house full of people.

The silence here, only her father, Jimmy, was giving the toast. He said, "I'd like to raise a glass- to my respected friend Rey and his wife Marry. I congratulate you on your wedding anniversary. How many years have passed? Life is short but full of joy. I'm glad you have each other to share your pleasure. Rey and Marry!"

"Rey and Marry!" said everyone.

Jimmy put his glass on the table and said, "I have something for you. I hope you like it. Carmel, the gift please."

"Thank you, sister." Rey said, taking the gift box. "Oh, I'm looking forward to seeing what is inside."

He opened the box and Marry screamed excitedly, "Phonograph! With a big horn. Haw I wish to use it now. Where is spinning disk?"

Neo saw that father beckoned her and she took her own gift and stand behind him. Jimmy said, "Yes, I would like, too, but not for so soon. We have Neo. Shure she'll pleased to sing us until we get one." Neo smirked and gave them one.

"Now I see." Rey said gently, "Neo wanted to make a gift herself. You acting so mature. And look, how much you've grown up. Your height is 4'10" and you are seventeen years old. Oh, dear. Your height will 7'2" before your thirties." His jaw dropped and he stood bulging eyes. "What we should to do with this big girl?" Neo moved her shoulders back, chest high and smiled proud. She nodded and step away. Jimmy looked little confused while Rey put disk on the place. Carmel smiled and said, "At last Neo will not the only one who pleases you singing. You demands of her too much."

"Music in the house is not the point. I dream that one day she becomes a successful vocalist." Jimmy answered.

Neo started Phonograph and started marching, holding her hands near the waist. Everyone moves following cheerful piano song. Phonograph sing:

I met my Marry there in a classroom.

She was so beauty and I was so cool

We fell in love, we knew it's the fate.

I thanked my lord for his present.

Neo didn't hear her father throughout the evening. She had been dancing and dancing till midnight came and guests left the house. Then she run to bad. "Hope Phonograph will distract dad for little time." she thought while covering with a blanket, "What the point? I distracted him today, but he will return tomorrow. And he will say what I should to do, "Daughter, you have a talent. You'll be a vocalist. It's my dream." I hope my sacrifice worth it to make him happy." She closed her eyes and slept till morning.
