Chapter 16

You slowly wake up to the sound of beeping. You groan and block out the light above you. The room was bright from the light. A heart monitor sat next to you along with a little table. The table had a glass of roses sitting on it. You put your hand down and look around. Empty chairs sat around the room. You look around for anything that says the time when a doctor walked in. She looked at you and smiled.

"Good your awake"

"What happened?"

"A couple found you in the middle of the road. Both your legs are broken but besides that you only had some minor injuries."

"What about the man?"

She checked your vielles.

"A man? Oh... did you know him?"

"He is my ex-husband."

"...."

She cleared her throat.

"Well...uh....he was found dead...Something got to him..."

"What do you mean by that?"

She took a breath and looked at you.

"He was torn apart... It was like a pack of wolves got to him"

You paused, the last thing you remembered was he broke your mother's necklace. You start to space out, trying to remember what happened.

"I'm sorry for your loss"

You look at her and shake your head.

"Don't be, he tried to kidnap me. When we were together he abused me."

"Oh, well, okay"

She walks out leaving you alone. You sigh and lean back. Out of habit, you reach for the pearl necklace. You pause when you don't feel it, then you sigh as tears form in your eyes. Your mother was gone, the last thing you had from her was gone as well. Your face was painted with pain as tears fell from your eyes.

"Fuck...."

You put your head in your hands as you slowly start to sob. Your father died before you could remember. Your mother was there for everything, she helped you through middle school when it was your worst. She was there until Zack came into the picture. Suddenly you start to put pieces together.

She didn't like Zack. Once he found out, she disappeared for months and was found dead later on. Your hands roll into fists and your teeth tighten. He took your mother away. He got rid of everything your mother gave you, besides the necklace.

HE ruined your life. HE was the one to take away your mother. HE is the reason you are in pain. Your hands start to turn black, snaping you back to reality. You look at your hands.

The doctor popped back into your head. 'He was torn apart... It was like a pack of wolves got to him.' Did you kill him? Suddenly the door opens
