It took long enough.

They finally got there though. Marinette and Adrien discovered each other's identities as Ladybug and Chat Noir, and were now happily dating.

Every day they would get together. Whether it was at school, out on a date, or simply visiting each other's houses, they were inseparable.

It was obvious to everyone around them that they were deeply in love. Extremely obvious, because they were always so affectionate with each other. Overly affectionate. They held hands, they hugged, they kissed, and they spent the majority of their time together talking, laughing and whispering back and forth. And as time went on, their affections only got stronger.

Then one day, Adrien walked Marinette home from school when it was time for their lunch break. Of course, since they were going to be away from each other for a whole entire hour, they quickly wasted no time engaging in an intense makeout session when they reached the bakery.

Looking out the window and noticing them on the sidewalk, Tom sighed. "Sabine," he said, calling his wife over. Then he continued when she came up beside him and noticed the spectacle outside too. "We need to have a talk with her about this relationship before she winds up getting pregnant."

Sabine silently exhaled, thinking that her husband was overreacting. "They just started dating two months ago."

He didn't seem happy with that reply. "But you can see what they're like with each other. It's only going to be a matter of time before something happens."

"This is Marinette we're talking about here. She's a smart girl."

"Yes, she is. But she's a smart girl who's head-over-heels in love with her boyfriend."

"And that's Adrien Agreste," Sabine continued to argue. "You know he's a good kid, and he's been nothing but polite and respectful."

"He's a fifteen year old boy," Tom countered with a straight face.

After a moment, she sighed. "Alright. We'll talk to her today."

Happy with that reply, he nodded. Then they both scattered as they saw the couple break apart and as Marinette opened the bakery door.

"Oh, hi sweetie," Sabine said, trying to act like they weren't just spying on her. "How was your morning?"

Marinette smiled brightly. "It was great." She went around the counter and dropped her backpack onto the floor before sitting down. "How's your day going?"

"Fine. Busy, like usual."

She nodded in acknowledgement as Sabine placed a plate of food in front of her. After a few bites into the meal she stopped eating when a chime went off on her phone. Then she smiled as she read the message on the screen. After typing a reply, she went back to eating. Then another chime, another smile, and another reply.

Sabine watched her daughter. "Who's that?" she asked, already guessing the answer.

"Adrien."

"Wasn't he just here a minute ago?"

Marinette looked up, confused. "How did you know that?"

Whoops. "Oh, I just assumed that he walked you home," she said, playing it off. "Like he usually does."

With a big smile, Marinette nodded. "Yeah, he did." Then she quickly returned to her phone.

Sabine kept watching her. "What's so important that he's texting you so quickly after seeing you?"

She gave a weak shrug, kind of embarrassed to answer. "It's not really anything important. He's just saying that he misses me."

Listening to the conversation, Tom frowned.
