"They're going to attack us soon!" Natallia slammed her hands down on the cherrywood table, glasses shaking their continents. I smirked, not wanting to get in the way of her blazing temper. Knowing I'd get burned if I did. I didn't care about how the King and Queen were sitting just across the circular table. The Queen with a small upturn of her lip, but the King was staring daggers at Natallia.

"You've said it before," a voice said from next to me. I wanted to slit my own throat right there and then. Hector continued, "They don't have enough power to invade. They're scared."

I laughed and everyone flicked their eyes to me, it was rare I spoke during these meetings. I always let Natallia speak and lead the way, I loved seeing her powerful and in her element. Because she would boss people around outside of our room but once we were alone she would do whatever I'd say. She'd kneel when I'd tell her too, keep quiet at my command. I loved it, her two sides coming out in her speech when she was with me. I relished in her power.

"You have something to say?" Hector said with a single eyebrow raised which creased his forehead even more from the frown permanently cemented on his face.

"Even though I was close to the Queen," I said. "She probably has some secret weapons that could kill nations that I didn't know about."

"You're just taking your girlfriend's side," Hector scoffed.

"I'm not his girlfriend," Natallia snapped. Even though we slept in the same bed every night. Fucked basiclly everynight. And went basically everywhere together. We still weren't 'together'.

"Whatever," Hector rolled his eyes and turned to the king. "We should wait, wait and see what the spies can get to us."

"If I'm not mistaken," Natallia said. "You haven't heard from any of your spies in more than four weeks. First it was because Lucian and I escaped Mortem. But the lockdown has been lifted. Why hasn't anyone gotten back to you?"

"They're probably trying to act normal after you fucked up our plan, you were supposed to kill the Queen. But look at that, she's still roaming around being the little bitch she is," Hector spat.

"Oh shut up, like you could have done any better," Natallia said and sat back down. She turned back at the king, his face still set like stone as he watched the two fae fight. "At least send some spies in as merchants," she said. "Try and see what is happening on the inside. Then once you see that everything has gone to shit, you'll invade before they do."

The King looked to her, "I'll see if I can send in four new spies. But if everything appears well, we won't attack. Not yet."

She nodded and took a long sip from her goblet. We had been in Aestridel for more than seven weeks. It had been a weird time the first couple days. Guards would stare in fear as mainly I passed through the halls. From my reputation it seemed like they were all scared that I would lash out and murder them.

"We've been waiting for weeks," Charlotte said. Probably one of the only people I could stand. "I think we should get the upper hand and attack first. Before it's too late and we're forced to defend our territory."

"Second," Felix said in his deep voice. He wasn't much of a talker. With his thick build and dark skin, the veins in his hands and arms popped whenever he moved them. Army cut black hair complimented his features, no smile lines could be seen on his face or around his eyes. Charlotte who sat next to Natallia had light auburn hair and pale skin, she almost looked like snow. Her hair was roughly chopped to her chin and always looked wind blown. Her large silver wings sat behind her, the feathers ruffling as she shifted in her chair.
